MODIFYING THE YARD SCRAPER! WHY DID I HAVE TO DO THIS??

An inside job today, making a frame to hang weights on the yard scraper.

Good video, little tip, weld a cap on top of your box section uprights to prevent them filling up and lying full of water. Or drill a hole at the bottom near where you welded allowing it to drain away

Peedie tip I learnt fae me granddad is if you had the rod at 45° to the steel it welds better and is usually easier to light up. The boss’s son was very happy wan day when he came up with the bright idea of makin a bracket for the forklift with a euro multi I think it’s called, bracket for the bucket in the new barley shed

Good idea with the weights. If your welding vertically turn the welder down low and go from the bottom to the top, makes a better job

Could have fitted the loader brackets the other way and spaced so the scraper could be loader mounted too. The weights are a good plan though. Many times i have seen us weight scrapers by any means possible.

You might never use it as a scraper on a loader but even just easy of moving it would be handy.

Looking back if I did it again, I would have put the brackets the other way around so I could mount it on the loader, but with the brackets facing forward like how they are the headstock won't fit unfortunately
