A new solution by Van der Hoeven.
For decades Van der Hoeven proves to be a leading player in the field of complete solutions for horticulture projects. With the new ModulAIR concept, Van der Hoeven sets another step towards a better complete solution by introducing a flexible, modular climate system for a variety of climate conditions.
In recent years there has been thoughts about sustainable (semi-)closed greenhouses. Also the clients of Van der Hoeven frequently asked us for such a solution. However, finding a good technical solution combined with an economically interesting system has always been proved to be difficult. Sustainability is naturally a great item for Van der Hoeven and its customers, but this must obviously be accompanied by an economic feasibility.
Through many conversations with customers and of course our many years of experiences in various climates, Van der Hoeven has been convinced that there is no ready-made solution which suits all customers. That was the basis for the design of the ModulAIR.
Within the ModulAIR system there is the possibility to integrate a variety of technical customized solutions. Being modular means these components can be easily added or deleted in a standard design. A perfect integration of the various components by adjustments to the specific greenhouse requirements is therefore easy to fulfil.
Some basic components are :
A greenhouse at overpressure to create a homogenous environment and minimize insect pressure;
Fresh air only for dehumidification or humidification and cooling;
Minimization of the number of vents, causing for : a higher light intensity of the greenhouse and also insect pressure will be further reduced;
Re-use of greenhouse air with as a result CO2 levels;
More effective dehumidification, resulting in a higher energy efficiency.
By adjusting the ModulAIR step by step to adapt to the requirements of the plant, the local climate and availability/costs of energy, you can choose the best customized solution. In some areas only dehumidify could be enough to have great results, in other cases the cooling could be essential.
Meanwhile the first commercial successes have already been achieved, as expected with different solutions for each project. With this new development in the field of technology and climate, Van der Hoeven again proves itself to be a firm player for international and professional horticultural projects, in which economic feasibility and sustainability fit together.
