Alex Zahnd gives a FULL walk through the prototype "Modular Pico-Hydro Power Plant" from the river from which the water is taken, to the artificially created pond for a first sedimentation, to the cemented sedimentation tank with overflow, to the 495 m long, 200 mm diameter HDPE pen-stock through the agricultural fields leading down to the turbine house and wash out of the water back into the river. Also a detailed walk through the inside of the turbine house and the 6 Pelton turbines is shown. The "Modular Pico-Hydro Power Plant" was developed and built from 2016 - 2018, starting to produce 24/7 electricity for the Mohari village in the Nepal Himalayan (North Latitude: 29° 20’ 06" / East 82° 22’ 28”, Altitude 3'141 meters (10'305 ft) above sea level), in the north-eastern part of the Jumla district, on the 30th November 2018. On August 13th 2024 the "Modular Pico-Hydro Power Plant" has been running NON-STOP without ANY interruption of producing electricity to the village for 50'000 hours. This, FIRST of its kind "Modular Pico-Hydro Power Plant", can "grow" in its power output over the years, IF the village/users have the need for more power and can afford it, up to 10 turbines in series.
