Friendly reminder that 1 guy singlehandedly made this song and the album it’s on. the bass line, the Guitars, the synths, the Drums, the pianos, the singing, all done by one Kevin Parker. Thank you Kevin

First time tears rolled on my eyes listening to this song. It's 4:00 AM and I'm laying on my bed, looking at the sky through my window, and I am thinking about the "nothing ever changes / everything is changing". Suddenly came to my mind the time I fell in love to this song. It was a night like this one, I just arrived home almost at dawn, probably 4 AM too, high as a kite, tripping on LSD, sat on the same bed I'm laying right now, grabbed my laptop and opened to listen to something. I was thinking "what was that one band that sounds a bit like the Beatles?" - I knew Tame Impala because I used to smoke weed with my neighbor and his cousin always played Lonerism for us to hear, and I always asked "what? Is this Beatles? This album is amazing!" and she always told me it was Tame Impala but I never understood the name hahaha - but that night I remembered. And it was this one song that I wanted to hear. Found it and played. I never forgot. I was 19/20 yo, my jaws were dropped, totally floating with the song, mesmerized by the psychedelic explosions at the end of the song. Listened to it on loop for hours, then I put Lonerism and was totally catched by it. I've listened to this band everyday for years after it. It walked with me to work, it rode with me on the bus to college, it accompany me on my travels through my country and it was my top choice at parties. It's been 7 years since that experience and I experienced a lot in these years - and now I'm here, at the same bed, wake at the same time. Everything changes? Sure, Earth is the planet of constant changes. But some things never changes, just by the brute force of your will it will change a little. Listening to this song again and to think about this all brought tears to my eyes. Things changed so hard that I can't even touch the life I've lived back then, nothing and no one that was there is here now, everything changed, but here I am, struggling with the same things I've struggled on my life, feeling that I will never change haha. It's paradoxical and lonely, just like this song. Just like this album.

The greatest and most Tame-Impalish of their songs. Impossible to do it justice in a music video, as it constrains the imagination too much. I first heard this in the car driving on a desert road between Laughlin and Las Vegas, Nevada. Totally blew me away. I think the defining live version had to be Coachella 2013 as afternoon was starting to give way to evening, the palms were swaying and the crowd - which likely hadn't heard it before - was watching in increasing awe.

"Nothing really changes, no matter how long you do your hair, looks the same to everyone else" :OO That line really resonates with me, like we all have that feeling that no matter what we try to do things don't change...
@eddymannylow8216
@eddymannylow8216 4 жыл бұрын
I interpreting this line very different. For me it stands for a person who is too afraid to do something profound with his/her life. So he/she rather does nonsense that he thinks will make him better armed if he/she finally steps out her/his comfortzone. But in all honesty is just another pseudoreason to extend the time to do nothing at all because in the end nobody really cares what your hair looks like. It is just another reason to procrastinate your life further and further.

All my life I have been listening to many great bands but the way i feel about Tame Impala is transcripted in my veins and i can't really tell why...there's a mystic behind this band or even Kevin Parker, the writer and composer. This is evolution, this an experience a person should feel proud to carry through during her lifetime. This is simultaneously the primary code to distress/refresh/rejuvenate...i just love it so much as i love my own life and the life itself. This is what we're made for

Along with The Doors, Tame Impala is one of my most significant musical influences and people have told me that the retro production and dreamy elements of my sound certainly reflect it. If you love this album as much as I do, you might find my Aura Blaze psychedelic rock project to your liking as well. If you have time, come and take a listen. Peace, love, positive vibrations to one and all.

listened to this album after taking acid for the first time the other night and this song took me on a journey through the paradox of the universe. Am I getting closer? Will I ever get there? Does it even matter? Sums life up. Bliss.

You know ever since we’ve all been trapped in our homes for good reasons, I’ve set a goal for myself to listen to a new artist every week and I’ve kept that goal in check for a little over 5 weeks. This week my friend posted a tier list on albums he’s heard (and let me tell you he knows his music pretty well) . He put this album and this album alone in the lowest tier (which would be the f tier in this case) I asked him why he put it there, he responded with “I have nothing against it it’s not my type of music”. I said back “I’ll listen to it and see for myself.” It turns out he’s wrong. This has to be one of the best albums I’ve heard. He and I have similar taste in music but his is way more open than mine. I like to think I have an open mind in music and I believe I truly do. The one song that stood out to me is apocalypse dreams, and it’s for the fact that it’s so much more different than the music I’ve heard. I mean this in a way where I’ve never heard such a great song in my life. It sounds a little cheesy but I truly love this song. I hope I discover more artist I might like just like tame impala.

*posting lyrics so i can sing along This could be the day that we push through It could be the day that all our dreams come true For me and you 'Til we're at the end of just another day Are you too terrified to try your best? Just to end up with an educated guess Like success Like those times you wake up mystified Oh, it feels so real in my sleep Never felt something so close I couldn't keep Into the day the strangest feeling Do you really live without the fear Everything is changing And there's nothing I can do My world is turning pages While I am just sitting here Well, am I getting closer? Will I ever get there? Does it even matter? Do I really need it? Wish that I'd remember And I'm on the outcome (This could be the day that we push through) Did I really want it? Does it really matter? It was only yesterday... (It could be the day that all our dreams come true) Didn't even know you... Now I'm gonna miss you (Oh it feels so real in my sleep, never felt so good, so close I do) Nothing ever changes No matter how long you do your hair It's the same to everyone else Everything is changing I guess I should warn my mom But she'll just be excited
