Iraq also has the switching of the upper B half-flat to B flat while descending to emphasize the Bayati before the melodic cadence.

Thanks for the video. I do wonder one thing in regards to Bayati. Lets say you play Bayati in D and than Kurd in D. What would actually be the difference? Aren't they based on the same notes?

Bayati uses D E1/2b F G A Bb C D, and sometimes B1/2b Kurd uses D Eb F G A Bb C D So the 2nd degree E note is different. There can be a lot of overlap in melodies between these two maqams, especially the upper part around the g note.

My dear teacher, I am an amateur musician. My three fingers are wrapped around a plectrum and touch the strings with a light touch. Is this normal? If not, what are its negatives? Thank you.

Your fingers touch the strings as you strike the strings? It would be best to hold your hand in such a way that your fingers avoid the strings. Maybe the angle of your wrist is not sharp enough. Try to hold your wrist at a 90 degree angle at your wrist. It's difficult to know the issue unless I see it.

@@OudforGuitarists Thank you for the advice, but I do not see any difference when my fingers touch the strings or not.. What are the negatives if my fingers touch the strings.. For example, I strike the R string, but my fingers touch the Saul and Do strings.
