To find out more about the Single Plane Swing, I have created a "Single Plane Pocket coach" that you can take to the range, or course, and learn the fundamentals of the swing. Find out more about the Pocket Coach here: SwingPocketGuide.com

Todd, thanks for sharing simply AMAZING golf lesson from the legend..Mr Moe. He was a natural born athlete, who practiced for his own enjoyment and betterment. Love the extension backswing, and right elbow bent...ever so important...its the opposite of present day coaching's.

Its been a long journey learning on my own. The videos of Murray on YT have been a great help. Slowing this down to quarter speed one can clearly see he bottoms the driver well behind the ball. Who teaches that? I never heard it from Graves. I discovered it on my own several years ago before Moe videos. Also, not many teach you to look at the ass end of the ball when it is on the ground. It may seem like common knowledge, but it is never really taught. "KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN AND LOOK AT THE BALL." Not good advice at all. On Teaching kids, Moe said he would start them with the putter and then the Wedge, irons, and on to the driver. Can you see the logic in his thinking? It is very clear to me... now! We all must learn to think and reason on our own. How do we move the ball to a target using this crooked stick? Basic fundamentals never taught. Take nothing for granted. Questions everything. Thank you George Carlin & Todd Graves!

Ben Hogan wrote to use our thighs as we are bending our knees in order to secure heavy buttocks thus placing us is a sitting on the stool position with springy legs as Moe said he does. I then expand both arms out-club head away from my ball-swing back and forth; and my club head now is mysteriously going directly through my ball directly to my target. No more shoulders or hips spinning out of control; and the left side of the fairway is no longer a concern of mine. Amazing! Thank you Moe and thank you Todd and thank your Ben Cheers 👌👍🥂

Todd, is the fact that Moe keeps his right foot planted at impact help him take pressure off his back and his high hand at address save his back from wear and tear? When I tried this swing I noticed I did not feel and back pain. Just wondering which aspect of swing is saving the back.

I got a question and hopefully you can answer it. How far did Moe put his club away from the ball when hitting his driver? I've kinda changed my swing to a Moe swing,but I'm still trying to figure out the driver set up.
@bfg9000d1
@bfg9000d1 Жыл бұрын
It's really not how far he put the club away as its more of turning into the back swing. Everybody's distance is going to be different. youtube a video called Moe Norman - One of the Greatest Golf Swings in History. It's a great video of Moe at the trailing end of his prime. Plus it shows Moe doing that great seat position and slide back with his back end. That as he got older disappeared. You will also notice he is significantly more close position look in this video. You can note from the video generally how far he had the club from the ball.

Good question Juan. His driver would sit at its normal loft but more importantly, he maintained the same swing angle (plane) on the backswing and at impact - a key element for a repeating golf swing. That said, and unlike most all pros, after impact his swing plane changed significantly! It's clear that he felt that going through impact it was paramount to keep the clubhead square to the line of path for as long as possible!!! Clearly, getting a hyper-long club extension and lining up to the clubhead toe was not his thing. Anyway, most all pros feel that after impact it's easier/better to keep the club on the same swing plane going through follow-through. IMO in his day Moe was more focused on consistency than clubhead/ball speed and length, while today's pros are looking for extras with better club design technology (including longer shaft length, more aggressive use of wrists, etc.)

@@shofeyWhat Todd said! Shofey, for all golfers (maybe even you), there are swing thoughts and/or things we try to do in our swing that are not 100% technically what we actually do... or are even achievable. All emerging golfers have various swing visualizations that accentuate various actions and no doubt, charismatic golfers are more than happy to amplify, exaggerate and embellish they're swing thoughts. So for those of us more left-brained logical thinkers like you and me, it's worth considering others like Moe have a flair that we may not choose to swallow "hook, line and sinker."

Great video. 2 proven facts after many experts have analyzed his swing. 1st one is he was the greatest ball striker. 2nd is his swing is not practical and was for Moe and Moe only. This swing is not practical for 99.9% of the players out there. People, stop trying to swing a club like other players. Work with what is best for you. Any teacher worth anything will tell you this and teach you this. Anyone trying to teach you Moe's swing is selling you false hope and wasting your time and money.

If this swing was for everyone and so built for everyone, you would definitely see 90% of pros and amateurs playing it. You will see the greats all have their own swing. They make their swing into one that hits the ball constantly.
