Didnt yet watch the whole video but I dont really get the idea behind split second? You already have to have all the pieces on the battlefield (Skirk and Putrid), and then you have to cast First Day and hope they dont counter it or kill one of the creatures, and only then you can play split second and safely get infinite mana, but then you still have to play Dark Dweller or Munitions which can still be countered. I just dont see an upside, am I missing something? If you get to the point where you can go infinite, Im pretty sure the opponent doesnt have an answer and split second is not protecting anything really

At the worst it can guarantee the infinite mana, at the best you can chain them together after you cast dark dweller and make swift to make them uncounterable. In my experience with playing the deck, opponents usually only interact with the combo finisher, what good is infinite mana if you can’t finish with it? If your opponents are limited in their counters or removal they usually let you get to your payoff then try to mess with it. The Split Second protects the payoff.

@@noelrostohar6992 it is a strange one, you are correct that siege smash only lets you combo when all three have resolved and it only lets you make infinite mana. The main pull for this card in this deck though is that when putrid dies and comes back then the First day of class trigger is on the stack, this is the weakest point of interaction for the deck, it is where you are most vulnerable. So having the potential to remove that is a good thing and worth testing. Initial testing i wasnt super blown away for this card but i think it has its moment to be in the deck. @@DrSiddha i am well aware that it top 8'd geddon, that doesnt mean that overall its position as a combo deck isnt at its peak? Broodscale is faster, walls are faster and both have better ponza MU's This is what I am eluding to.
