19:30 the Lily Surface Scraper Addon lets you copy the Link from ambientcg and some other places and add it in blender with a one click PBR shader setup. You can of course select resolution and filetype. Just in case someone didnt know.

1:39:00 - Octane is very cool because it supports spectral rendering, but it's hard to justify switching render engines when you have spent so many hours in one and can get every look you want. Spectral rendering is also over-hyped, however as a math person, it is the "correct" way to do a path tracer in my opinion :P Most people will never see the benefits of spectral rendering, but confining your colors to linear combinations of three basis colors feels sad, and does loose some important arbitrary precision. -But yeah, I'm also deep in Cycles and have never touched anything else official.

Hehe yeah it felt a bit weird for me too… Also it was sometimes a bit distracting reading chat when I wanted to say something coherent to the camera! So I don’t think this is the best solution yet

What graphics cards are you using? I've learned that's important factor. I have a 750watt modular psu what's my limit in rtx graphics cards?

He's using Rtx 4090, he mentioned it in the stream. And according to my knowledge i think you can use rtx 4070 pretty easily. But i suggest doing your own research before buying.

Instead of worrying if the music is too loud during a stream, you can simply use sidechain compression or ducking in OBS on the music channel and set the sidechain source as your microphone. This way the music will always lower itself automatically when you speak. And when you don't speak the music will fade back in.

Why do you rarely use the principled bsdf? I prefer it for most realistic materials like wood and stuff

Yeah it has fresnel taken in account, subsurf scattering glossy roughness transmission everything :O

how to use agx with exr format. As exr exports in linear and using the previous methods in vinci resolve would convert into linear exr to filmic. i have searched and didn't find any LUT that would convert exr linear to agx in resolve.

Hi guys! Can someone explain me what is the difference between using principled BSDF and mixing different shaders ( like mixing diffuse and glossy in the video)? Is there a technical side to it? Maybe you can give a hint where I can read about it?

I think you can piece together an answer by reading the pages for the mix shader and the individual shaders in the manual. I think the principled shader is essentially the same as using individual shaders w/mix shaders that if you don't use some of the features of the principled. I don't know for sure but I'm pretty sure the manual will tell you!
