Cuban I can relate so much to ur story . Im much older than u but my mother and I had a on and off again relationship due to me holding on to pain I felt from my childhood that I cldnt let go or rather didn't want to let go .In 2017 my mother called me and told me that the dr had found cancer in her left lung and that she wld be starting her treatments soon. Once I learned of the cancer I told myself that I wasn't gonna hold on to the past and that I just wanted to enjoy everyday from that moment on and pray for the best outcome. She went into remission for about 6 /8 mths but it came bk worse . She called me to tell me that it was still in her lung but now it was in her liver and left breast. She had to see the dr a few days later so after that visit wit the dr she called me to inform me on what they said and she said baby I'm sry that everytime I call u its more bad news but that the cancer had spread to her brain and I lost it I cldnt control my emotions but she still remain so strong . She was living about 2hrs away so the next day I showed up at her house and she looked so ill I jus cried and cried. She had a dr visit that day for some test on the place found in her breast that was on a Monday. On Wednesday she was on FaceTime with my aunt and she said that she had something she needed to tell us but really didn't want to . That's when I heard the worst thing that I ever heard up to that point in my life. She said that the dr told her that the treatments wasn't no longer wrkn and that the type cancer she has was a fast spreading type so my mom asked the dr about how long does she think she had left to live . The dr said Sheila honey only God knows that answer but as a dr and knowing what I know about cancer and how it works on ppls body she said with treatments no wrkn and how fast it's spreading in a professional opinion I wld say about 3 to 4 mth. Of course my aunt and I lost it cldnt help it but once she was off FaceTime I will never forget how my mother looked over at me and said I NEED TO KNOW THAT U FORGIVE ME FOR NOT BEING A MOTHER TO U HOW I SHLDVE BEEN AND I APOLOGIZE FOR ALL THE HURT AND PAIN THAT ME NOT BEING THERE HAS CAUSED U IN UR JOURNEY THRU LIFE. I TOLD HER THAT I FORGAVE HER ALONG TIME AGO AND WE CONTINUED TO TLK ABOUT THINGS WE SHLDVE TLKD ABOUT SO LONG AGO . I'm just so grateful that God allowed us the time to have that conversation before we had no time to do so cuz I dnt think I cld live wit myself if we didn't get to have that tlk.She moved bk home to my aunts house and she lived for about 3 mths and since the time if her death in 2019 I have been so lost and feel so empty and I cnt seem to shake it. So to anyone who has issues with anybody u love let it go and fix it before its to late cuz once they are gone that's it .Cuban stay strong keep do you cuz that's what ur mother wld want and it's ok to cry dnt try and hold it in cuz that only causes u more harm than good.
