It was good music sense of Raj Kapoor that all his movies had super songs and also were well picturised. Mukesh was the voice of Raj and Rafi was generally the best voice for Rajendra Kumar.So actually we got great songs from Shankar Jaikishan team.The story mentioned is irrelevant.We had seen that period.Best to say Hats off to SJ-Raj-Shailendra-Hasrat team.Rafi, Mukesh,Lata, of course are the greats of Indian music

There was no question of Raj Kapoor's ego being hurt. Raj Kapoor himself was a big Rafi fan. On his death, he has been quoted as saying, "Filmi ganon ka betajj baadshah chala gaya". As a matter of fact, he used to have one Rafi song in his film as a 'shagun'. Even Mera Naam Joker had a kafi by Rafi "sadquey Heer tere".

Just a little detail - the song "Bol Radha Bol" was composed by Shankar not Jaikishan. Although Shankar-Jaikishan did not disclose the identity of the composer, it was well known that the songs written by Shailendra were composed by Shankar, and those by Hasrat Jaipuri were composed by Jaikishan.
