Originaire d’Iran et vivant à Berlin, Mohammad Reza Mortazavi est l’un des meilleurs percussionnistes au monde. Enfant, il est fasciné par la multiplicité des sonorités du tombak et du daf. Il produit aujourd’hui des rythmes et des sonorités d’une dimension orchestrale à travers lesquels il transcende les techniques et les modes de jeu traditionnels de ces deux instruments iraniens.
