But kathaliyin mugavarigal tholainthu vittathal, athai thedi megakuttam alaikindranavo Ena thnathu karpanai ondrai yetri solli irukiraar. This imagination adds beauty to the lyrics... Even the next line Mugavarigal thavariyathal aluthidumo athu mazhaiyo When clouds converge raining is a natural event. Here he imposes his imagination thst - as the clouds failed to find the location / address of kathali - the clouds weep and those tears are the rains... Thus that kuripou yetra ani in 2 lines in this evergreen classic. Beautiful lyrics by Vairamuthu, Superb composing by Maestro Ilayaraja and brilliant rendering by SPB.

One of the most creative compositions of Raja sir. His style is inimitable. But my most unforgettable painful experience is on 28th Aug 1985 at Prasad studio, when I went for my audition with Ilayaraja sir, I chose this as my second song to render in his presence, but miserably failed!! I selected a song which was a mismatch to my the then untrained talent!!! Feeling extremely sad for loosing a life time opportunity despite impressing Raja sir by rendering my first song in Sanskrit 'Gangaa Tharanga Ramaneeya Jataa Kalaapam'. It is more than 38 years!! I remember the whole incident with clarity because it is in episodic memory!!! Feeling blessed for getting an opportunity for my audition with a living international legend.

Solar Flare Beautiful song, I agree. I didn't know of it's existence till today. There is a Hindi version of this song too and most Bollywood fans are not aware of this original Tamil version. I love the Hindi version more thought for it's fast guitar fingering techniques. The melody has been changed a bit too. It's in fact my all time favourite. Suggest you listen it to it too. It's called Neele Neele Ambar Par and sung by Kishore Kumar.. But am happy to know the origin of my favourite song. Saving Illaya Nila to my playlist.
