Hey, He is singing bunch of songs for this movie series, these guys are just actors he has nothing to do with the movie, only sing songs at different episodes.

It's not what you think. This series is about an stage in Iran's past. The guy is symbolic of Iranian intellectualism and mah pishooni(folkoric tale of a beautiful girl that is translated here angel face but means moon brow refering to this girl here; symbol of marxism movement in Iran...the girl in the series dies at the hand of government and the guy becomes a runaway political figure...showing how leftism on Iran died and intellectuals got closer to other groups; (Shahrzaad the other woman symbol of Iran itself)... it's a longer story than this but that's what this song is mourning.
