You probably either already got these answers, or don't wanna worry about it, but in case someone else wants them, here's the general answer to the questions Charlie had: The Warframes are built off of people, mutated via the Helminth Strain of the Infestation, and then cloned into multiple copies for mass production. The Protoframes here are NOT the originators of their 'batch' of Warframe, but normal humans who were exposed to an altered Helminth Strain meant to partially convert them into the warframe. So, yes they do have the 'memory' of great warriors, but the Protoframes are not those great warriors, they're just people, albeit mostly soldiers. The Drifter does have a deal with the Man in the Wall, its just not the same as the Operator's. We don't know the terms of either, but we do know the Drifter has shaken with Wally as well. We got back in time via the vessels (the giant mecha things in Albrecth's Lab) locking onto Arthur + an Entrati-modified Techrot Helminth spitting out an Excalibur for us to latch onto to stick the landing. We then tried to fully transference into Arthur, he threw you out, stabbed your hand, and then-- critically not shown in the quest but canonically-- Eleanor (Nyx Proto) uses her mind powers to confirm that, at the very least, YOU believe what you're saying is going to happen in the time loop. Which is probably why they don't just kill you when you're wrong and the Loop starts changing. The Hellscrubbers do seem to passively reduce the rate at which the survival meter drains even without being consumed as long as you keep them clean, and if they get fully blue'd up they turn into an enemy, but yeah otherwise its just survival. Saryn is still great, and has been fantastic since her rework; and even before her rework she was fine just not as popular. But yeah she slaps. The Ignis Wraith is likewise still great, but as someone mentioned, most Incarnon weapons can probably out-perform it when built well. But it holds up, and thats beautiful. Entrati's a dick, but like, relatively on our side, but refuses to answer a question in a straight forwards way. He invented void travel via diving in a glass ball into the void, meeting The Indifference (aka Wally aka the thing that looks like your operator and calls you kiddo) which then took accute interest in him. It's not happy about the fact that his slamming the doors behind him caused its finger to get cut off. Entrati went to 1999 fleeing Wally's pursuit, among other things-- thats why Loid broke the casket after he used it, to try and stop Wally from using it to follow. It didn't work. Whatever method Wally is using to get to 1999, his primary manifestation has been in body-snatching Major Rusalka. We don't know a lot about her before the quest obviously, but Hex dialogue states that she's been gone for as long as they can remember in loop time-- specifically, trying to read her mind has you dive headlong into the void and it is not pleasant. Xata is voidtongue, as is Fass-- specifically, Xata Fass Xata is directly translated to 'Truth, Chaos, Truth'. Might mean nothing. Someone explained Nyx fine live. The part where Charlie mentions feeling like its a disconnect is The Man in the Wall explaining that it's fucking pissed at Albrecth for taking its god damn finger bones. Is it wrong? Perhaps not. Yeah, Wally is The Indifference, or at least a manifestation of it. Look man its as close to a deity as we've encountered in this setting we don't know everything about it. And yeah, The Drifter can loop outside Duviri apparently. Albrecth had been to Duviri, so presumably that's why he knew, but he clearly is at least willing to humor your desire to help the Hex via forcing you to time loop. That's up to the end of the quest and thats good enough for me.

Regarding the Lore I'll try and make a brief explanation regarding Albrecht's plan. Albrecht Entrati went back in time in order to escape The Indifference/Wally. Wally can't easily follow because he is missing his finger/s (unclear if multiple). He lost his fingers when Albrecht first entered the void. There Albrecht encountered Wally, who took on the form of Albrecht himself and started reaching out. Albrecht, terrified, ran out, and got the portal closed. The closing of the portal cut Wally's fingers. Albrecht took them and cloned them, then used them for void travel (in Railjacks and Zariman Itself). We get an explanation from Fishonnaci that not having his full form, Wally cannot really traverse the Strands of Khra(time). When Albrecht left, he took a sample of the infestation, specifically the Helminth strain. This strain was used to make the warframes and the Helminth itself (the ones used to 3D print a synthetic copy of Excalibur, much like we make our very own warframes in the foundry). He also used that strain to make the protoframes, but not fully finish them, in order to preserve their minds and humanity. Albrecht was banking on using the Drifter's time powers in order to allow us to arrive back in 1999, and as well as having the ability to loop (ability Drifter manifested from Duviri). Way back in Albrecht's original time, the Orokin (who developed the infestation) did some nasty stuff, such as nuking Deimos with infestation in order to repel the Sentient occupation. This resulted in Deimos looking like it does today, as well as having it's own strain of infestation called, The Grey Strain. This strain causes things it infects to become massive. Like the infested we see on Deimos, as well as the two Worms. We can see this strain being used to created the Vessels. Now, why is Albrecht doing all this? His bloody master plan is to literally make a Kaiju fight happen. He wants someone to pilot a finished Vessel (which is literally just a giant warframe) in order to fight Wally's true form (the one we see at the end of The New War) In order to make this massive Vessel, he is using the Grey Strain, and data from Arthur and Aoi specifically (so he wasn't just trying to run away). That is the reason why he wants us to befriend them naturally, not just pretend to be their friends. It seems he is getting valuable data, sending it to Loid who is integrating it into the Vessel production. There is also something about wanting to go to Tau Ceti (the system the Oroking wanted to terraform using the Sentients, before they revolted and became, well, sentient) which as far as I know hasn't really been mentioned much as part Albrecht's big scheme. I hope this helps anyone who was curious! Cya!

It's been mentioned once or twice in the less popular lore bits (by Albrecht and/or Mother) that the real fingers are kept somewhere completely hidden. It would not be a surprise to me if they in fact sent them to Tau Ceti in an attempt to get Wally to leave, or keep them safe from Wally's reach. We do know for a fact that Wally wants them to be complete. He is restricted by not having them. But that does not mean that is his end goal, more a means to an end.

@@ShadowDemon_4 On the PC-Pom dialogues, the Drifter explains that Wally is just the Void given form, and being the Void it doesn't really have meaning, it's a mass of emotions and lives given a body and extreme power. Because of this, Wally tries to find meaning on itself by torturing others (what he did to the Drifter and Operator), helping others (giving a second chance to Teshin, giving human intelligence to Entrati's animals) or just doing random things like the pocket dimensions such as Duviri, which Wally didn't really know got manifested into the Void going by Duviri's documents you can find in game, when it tried to reach out to Duviri, Entrati cut off it's finger at the exact same time so Wally never really got into contact with Duviri. So his objective is really to just discover itself, to know what it is capable, their meaning and overall play with things because from it's point of view life doesn't really have much of a value, he can see multiple timelines, results, futures, what matters if he kills one guy over this timeline if he is alive right there over the other timeline.

For people new to Warframe you want multiple copies of an Arcane so you can upgrade it to an higher rank. Higher ranks means the buffs also get stronger. The fact most of the bounties give arcanes is such a godsend because almost all the arcanes in 1999 are endgame viable for Steelpath.

The issue with Y2K wasn't as simplistic and stupid as people make it sound. The issue was that up until that point, computers and data systems had been built to only recognize a date format that used two digits for the year. The problem with this, given that we were approaching the turn of the century and a new millennium, was that there was no way to indicate whether '00' meant '2000' or '1900'. This prompted legitimate concerns about potential system errors that could cause system failures and network crashes worldwide. The entire internet, and many other computer networks might suddenly go dark. Imagine blue screens of death everywhere and everything related to computers and the internet suddenly being offline with no easy way to bring them back online again. Even in the late 1990s that would have been catastrophic. Everything from air traffic control systems to the stock market were already heavily computerized and all of it would have come to a screeching halt. It wouldn't be the Armageddon depicted in the game of course, but it certainly would have been disastrous, having negative impacts on logistical systems worldwide. Of course, Hollywood likes to over dramatize things, so their description of the problem was an over-the-top caricature of the actual issues and the potential consequences, and since the massive effort to update our systems was successful, we never experienced the disaster the experts had rightly warned us about, so that, combined with the media's hyperbolic hysteria leading up to it, made it look like the warnings were unnecessary and stupid.

@RemmRose It wasn't an issue of knowledge. Of course we had the knowledge to be able to fix it. We fixed it, but it wasn't a quick fix. It took months of coding and development time to get the systems updated as it was. If we had tried to do that in the midst of the computers being down, it would have taken significantly longer because instead of being able to push updates out through the network as we did, we would have had to go to each computer and patch them directly using disaster recovery disks. It would have taken significantly longer. As I said in my previous post, I agree that the hysteria was uncalled for, but that doesn't negate the fact that it would have been a significant problem and actually worse than even what you describe. Trust me when I tell you, we would *not* have been back up and running in a day. It would have taken weeks, at least, to get the systems up and running. No, it wouldn't have been the end of the world, or the end of society as we knew it, but it definitely would have been ugly, with many logistics systems being brought to a standstill much in the same way COVID19 did. Would we survive it, absolutely, but we definitely wouldn't have just blown it off without much thought. Think about the recent CrowdStrike outage that brought several systems and airline traffic to a standstill for several days. It would have been that, but magnified by a MUCH greater degree as it wouldn't have only affected systems that used CrowdStrike. Almost every system on the planet would have been affected.

@ fair idk man i was… like 7 i believe so i couldn’t have understood the scale of what was going on to be fair but it is just as silly to me now as it was to 7 year old me. Sure i vastly understated how much of a big deal it would have been but at most it would have a been a pretty large setback we have to fix. For most people who werent invested in stocks like most people werent back then and considering computers were still a luxury asset for most people the average person wouldnt have felt much of it outside of grocery store and factory shit, even then it would have been about a month in when we would have really felt it and that would have lasted maybe a quarter of a year at worst. Id say the recession of 08 was much worse for most average people.

@RemmRose hehe. You were 7, I was more than 27. Computers were a lot more common than you realize. This was well after the release of Microsoft Windows 98 and, at least in the Western Industrial world, computers were running just about everything. I just used the stock market as an example. It actually would have affected all banking and financial systems. ATMs would no longer work either, all kinds of things would have simply stopped working. Hell, even traffic signals were computerized by then. Again, I'm not saying it would be anything like what was depicted in media narratives, but those hyperbolic scenarios were not what the experts were warning would happen. I'm just saying that the real issues would have been significant, widespread and felt by a lot more than just the wealthy business class.

Arthur is not Excalibur Albrecht entrati went back into an alternate timeline 1999 (multiple times before we actually saw loid smash the coffin when albrecht went the last time) Albrecht experimented on many people trying to turn them into a new kind of warframe using strains of infestation based on existing original warframes from the future Basically he tried to find people compatible with specific infestation strains to help fight the man in the wall Or something like that

In the after quest chats with Quincy Drifter suggest that Albrecht made the protoframes as spares if our own warframe couldn't made it into 1999 so that Drifter would always have frames. But that's just speculation from the Drifter.

@@aranox on the warframe website we can find Albrecht and Loids PC and they have observations on things happening in the new war along with Drifter. Edit. It might also just be NekroLoids notes and not real Loids or Albrechts but the rest of points still stand. Also in the quest Albrecht does say "if you are seeing this your loop has been altered" meaning that Drifter went through at least one loop of 1999 and met Albrecht before the quest beings, that's how they know what is supposed to happen and where everything is. Also also from the Duviri fragments we learn that Albrecht was in Duviri before Drifter left it and was given a lab there by Thrax, so they also could have met there.

The absolute dearth of arcanes in a time when the game is giving them out like candy is appalling. You can get 3 in a single steel path exterminate/survival if you get lucky with the gruzzling carrying an arcane(acolyte, gruzzling, whisper). 3 arcanes in 5 minutes, 2 if the random loot roll picks lanthorns or voca. And if you hate eidolons, you can trade 30k rep with the syndicates for vosfer now, which gives you 3 random arcanes from a chosen pool. Granted, i wouldnt expect to get arcane energize that way(I've not seen one in about 40 packs), but it can really expand your library without the need for a specific farm.

Actually, Y2K was a big issue based on operating systems using a two-digit year. Joe, when 99 flipped to 2000 the year would end up at 00. The fear was this was going to crash banking systems pretty negative credits across stock Banks and credit it would also affect defense systems that controlled subs, missiles and other military. And finally more other underlying computers running energy infrastructures. I was actually on one of the international teams fixing this from 1995 to 1999

OG warframes were made by orokin from infected people (some were warriors sure) that's how non-player frames like stalker, jade and umbra are the originals that had mind of their own. What we as players/operators use are fabrications that are basically just meatmetal puppets with no mind or soul in them except for umbra who can move on his own because he has his own mind as he still is the original warframe.

@GRIMHOOD99 It's not just Umbra. It's all of them. They are all replicas, but they are more than just metal meat puppets. The drifter confirmed this in some conversation in the new update. I had a line that said something about her/him taking on certain mannerisms from the frames, like the way they moved and stood (idle animations are basically lore now). Umbra is just the most... aware? Unfortunately, this is all I can remember off the top of my head, so if you don't believe me or disagree, that's fine. I'm sure many will make lore videos about what the new update finally confirmed, denied, and revealed to be canon. And Merry Christmas, btw.

Yeah I also saw the bit about mannerisms (basically animation sets) and it's effectively like a lingering memory, like being within someone's skin but they're of course not in there. Ultimately, I think Charlie really got it wrong but it opens doors to talk about what a Warframe is like. Sort of like if you drive my car, it'll have its own characteristics but is ultimately not a soul/conscious thing or have one within it.

When most games first start out they're more basic and easy to understand. The longer the games go on the more mechanics and complicated rules there are to follow to keep the game interesting and engaging. Warframe has been around for a few years now and has had multiple expansions so it's understandable someone new would find it all a bit confusing and difficult. If you play it and take it one step at a time it's much easier to get a grip on it then just watching videos. The story is definitely crazy though, lol.
