@@nothandondlovuraw7388you used a lot of tea isn't that what makes hair brittle bcus henna is already severely strengthening then you put tea in the indigo I can hear my hair popping. I love that you used aloe juice instead of warm water I have never seen or heard of that. I think I will try it. I haven't done a henna application in years bcus of the mess and how time consuming it is. It's literally a 2day process but my hair is now having challenges from illnesses and aging and trying things I should have never done. I am going back to basics. I will also do what you did and put the indigo on top of henna as well as do another indigo application in the front of my hair bcus I have white hair in the front and henna makes it red.😢

Hi Sis.... Very detailed video and really neat process. Thank you. The whole process can be very messy and you tackled it brilliantly. I'm impressed with how precise you are with eyeballing the quantities you will need. I'm due for the same treatment first week of Feb. I will be using your method to the T....it's by far the best I've seen. No suggestions for improvements here. Crying with you sis...and tuned in for the next video on how you tackled it.

Detangeling is not as bad as we make it. Immediately after rinseing you should quickly put hair in chunky twists to slow down shrinkage. Then take out 2 find or create your parts and retwist the part you dont use. Then detangel by stretching hair vertically with your hands in a smoothing motion. Then pull the hair apart like a fan then release shed hair and hair that is wrapped together until the entire section is detangled then you can comb and twist then go to next section. Etc..
@nothandondlovuraw73885 ай бұрын
Yes often it’s not when my hair is in twists, however in this instance my whole head was loose to facilitate the application of the henna and indigo; hence the nightmare😂

@@nothandondlovuraw7388 It's not that far from waist length.🤣 I guess I'm not traditional when it comes to my hair care. I found that the best way for me to keep tangles at bay and keep my scalp clean is to shampoo, condition, detangle, and restyle every 5-7 days or so. I have an oily scalp so I can't go much longer than that. Most times I wear it in a wash n go, but on occasion, I wear it up in two crown braids.
@nothandondlovuraw73882 жыл бұрын
@@1GoldenBreeze same with me on the detangling part, I have to detangle weekly otherwise I will be crying on washday. My scalp is not oily even while I oil it on occasion it just gets sucked up so I only wash once a month, even then it's to drench my hair in water so sometimes I just do water only wash

I love this video because I'm constantly looking for ways to update my routine to make the process easier. I have similar length, similar textured hair... and my heart started palpitating when I saw you take off the towel at the end of the video to begin the detangling process. Girllll... I KNOW... It can take me days to detangle. Anyway... lol, I think you've mentioned a number of times in this video not leaving your hair out, I'd suggest the same for this process. water never touches my hair unless it's appropriately sectioned and twisted. I might take out a twist and run that piece of hair under water to get it really clean, twist it back up and move the the next section... Also, I only wash my hair in one direction. I know you said it's neater to clean your hair in the basin than in the bathroom but all I was thinking when you were cleaning your hair upside down like that, in the basin, was how knotted it was going to be when you flipped your hair over! I always rinse hair in the shower and let the pressure of the water help me finger detangle each section piece by piece. It doesn't get all the tangles out but it's usually enough to make life easy for me once my hair dries. And anyway, I don't need to FULLY detangle my hair unless I plan to wear it straight, which rarely happens.

Hi Ava, you know the struggle 😭😭I did another treatment 2 weeks back and it was the best I've ever done. I made a very concentrated tea with the henna and Hibiscus and dipped my hair in the tea. I removed all the powder before I did that,i only used the tea and didn't rinse it out. The colour was nice and deep, no mess, I did it in the twists

@nothandondlovuraw73882 жыл бұрын
Yeah henna releases a Lawson dye that attaches to the hair. It does not really colour the hair to a very noticeable state, doesn't cover greys. Indigo needs the henna to attach to hence the combination or 2 step process. Indigo gives your hair the darker colour

Hi Doreen... Just to add to what Nothando has said... Henna on it's own will give the hair a subtle reddish/orangish tinge (depending on your natural hair colour) but it is essential to use prior to using Indigo as it gives it something to adhere to. If you use Indigo on it's own the grey hairs come out with a greenish tinge instead of the dark black colour.

The prep time is totally different too. Indigo must be used 20 minutes after mixing it with water.

Hello Nothando, This is an innovative way to do this. I think you said you left the Henna in your hair for 6hrs b4 adding the indigo ? Is this a version of the one step process or do you call it the two steps ? Does is fully cover the greys ? Mind you, I can’t see any grey in your hair. Apple cider vinegar tends to clarify my hair. Doesn’t it rinse off the henna and indigo colour ? I’m sorry - I’ve too many questions. Regards
@nothandondlovuraw73882 жыл бұрын
This is a 2 step method and yes it covered my greys. In the thumbnail of one of my videos the one on detangling and doing double strand twists you can see my grey strands, also on the 1 step henna treatment I have shown the grey, I don't have a lot just abfew strands. I also wanted to darken my hair colour as the henna leaves it brownish. I don't add a lot of apple cider vinegar in the rinse so I haven't seen it strip the colour out. Thanks so much for watching 😘
