Wow! To think I almost stopped watching this video when I realised your hair was relaxed - I'm glad I didn't, because this was just what I needed to learn about! ALLLLL of the products I use are protein laden products, and my hair is snapping off easily and feeling a little crispy. I didn't realise, but apparently my hair needs a lot more moisture ONLY! Thanks for this!

Girl, you took us to school on this one. Complete with objectives, class content and a test at the end. It was kind of fun. I learned so much about moisturizers and proteins. Never really gave either any thought. I have some of those products. No wonder why my hair is dry sometimes. It's because I was using these products the wrong way.

This video actually helped a LOT you have no idea!!! I searched for videos on protein treatments because my hair has been looking dull and the curls aren’t as defined as they used to be, I was looking for product reviews to know what to buy. Turns out the hair mask I use once a week (when I wash my hair) is protein based and I might just have buildup. I Googled “signs of protein hair damage” and my hair checked every mark 🫣 so now I’m going the opposite direction and getting some moisture, something I’ve known my hair likes and needs more of anyway. Thank you so much beautiful ❤️❤️❤️

OMG thank you so much for this video, I've decided to learn more about my hair and start my journey, and these two have been very confusing to me. I just noticed that I've been using only protein products for months because I didn't know how to differentiate them and know my hair is brittle and the texture is so bad. You are the first one that really explained, thank you
@VonnieVon20092 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for researching and then doing this video! This is the exact info that I need. There are SO many videos that just tell us the difference between needing protein and needing moisture. But this is the first one that I’ve found that actually breaks down what that looks like in hair products. So, THANK YOU! If you need ideas for videos (and you haven’t done one on this topic yet), it’d be very beneficial for us to know what different oils do on our hair. For example, i believe that some are more penetrating, whereas others are heavier and sit on hair. some are good for the scalp, some are good for the follicle. It’d pair great with this video because my next step is to look up what oils to use after I moisturize my hair to lock it in.

I recommend avoiding silicone products unless the plan is too flat iron the hair. I steer clear of silicones in any of my conditioners/masks especially like the first moisturiser - the silicone is too near the top of the ingredients list. Anti-static agents are really good (cetrimonium chloride, behentrimonium chloride etc) to help to give hair the right charge and seal the cuticle after wash. I feel like people don't talk about this enough which can be the reason your hair feels 'moisturised' but rough. You could do a whole video on moisture alone: fatty alcohols, humectants, sugars etc.
