Max was completely outclassed in the trilogy with Volk and got made to not even look like a contender. Ilia outclassed Volk but they have different styles. Volk doesn't have Max's chin and Max might be a harder fight for Topuria. Max's brag is that he is the first person to hold the interim, UFC champ and BMF. The Topuria tweet just repeated what Topuria said on the interview, he wants to be the first to hold the UFC champ and BMF at the same time actively. Again not crazy after he slept Volk, wasn't a TKO wasn't a simple KO drop where the guy is still conscious but the ref calls the fight, Volk was asleep. Topuria can definitely cash in on what he said.

@@mystermont2019 Super crazy. The post said Ilia's calling the shots. He's not. He'll fight who he's offered or relinquish the belt. If Max asks for the shot the UFC will give it to him. Simple as that. Now, who will win if they fight? Obviously anyone could win as MMA in unpredictable and there's always a puncher's chance. I'd pick Max though if I had to put money on it and I think most hardcore fans would. MMA math doesn't tell the whole story, especially when you're using judges' decisions in your equation. It's pretty wild to say Max isn't/wasn't even a contender or whatever. I appreciate your willingness to share your perspective though.

Go watch it for yourself and make an opinion on that fight. I also factored in Max's chin and even said he would likely be a harder match than Volk because of it. Max's chance of beating Topuria is like 10-20%
