I was saying that when they come into the B1G their band will not compare with those such as the Nationally know University of Michigan Marching Band.

As someone who will be marching with the 2014 Scarlet Knights I can promise that this year we're stepping it up so that we will be able to compare with the rest of the B1G Bands. Sure, it may take some time, but we'll be right up there with Michigan and Ohio within a few years.

Lance Wood As a matter of fact I did. I've seen most of the B1G pregames and half time shows. They're all great bands and we're the new guys to the family, but that doesn't mean we won't be able to compare. Sure, maybe this year we might be a little behind because it's new to us, but we'll be able to find our place and be just as good eventually. Like I said we're stepping it up. The band this year is unrecognizable from what we had last year. I take it from you're channel that you're in Michigan's Band? Good for you, they're amazing, but that doesn't mean you can make assumptions that other bands won't be at your level when you have nothing to based it on except last year's performances (which were not B1G quality because we weren't part of B1G). When bands I competed against in HS did that it came off as kind of snobby and caused rivalries and honestly, this activity really doesn't need any of those. We all love band and we all enjoy what we're doing so why don't you let Michigan do their thing and Rutgers do theirs. We'll see how us underdogs do when you can actually see us in B1G.

Lance Wood Who cares? College marching band is about having fun and doing your best. If you want the apex of performance in the marching arts, go watch drum corps.

Comparing this to other great B1G bands such as The University of Michigan Marching Band it is an ok pregame but colorguard is not very good and not very complex or impressive drills.

Rutgers was not in the Big 10 in 2013.
