We’ll soon be traveling to the world of Hyrule, and in live action no less! In this video we’ll breakdown the things we most want to see in the adaptation of the beloved Legend of Zelda series. This list includes our hopes for Zelda’s role, Ganondorf, and how we’d love to see an original story told instead of adapting one of the games as well as many more hopes and dreams. Left-handed Link as the left-handed protag (at 16-17 years old, but no facial hair), a back scabbard on Link's back (w/ shoulder belt), Master Sword (w/ the winged quillons (curved to the blade), the two golden gems on the guard, straight edges, spear point, and hexagonal blade section fully intact) as Link's main weapon (the essential sacred sword ta beat Ganon by stabbin' his cold heart in the exact center), Link's green tunic, Link's green hat, Zelda as right-handed deuteragonist (at 16-17 years old), Ganondorf as a very tall right-handed giant w/ the beard (like Abraham Lincoln's iconic beard), and the final final bein' won by Link 'n Zelda by beatin' Ganondorf at his own game. THESE things should be left intact. 'Course the back scabbard needs an open slot so the blade comes out AND goes back in easier (keepin' the blade coated in oil to avod corrison). We need left-handed Link w/ the swords like the Master Sword in his left hand, shields like the Hylian Shield on his right arm (horizontal carry only), left-handed archery by Link, and his green tunic w/ the green hat. We need the 'Merican accent fer Link, Zelda, Hylia, Demise, Ganondorf, and the pigman Ganon. British accent fer Zelda's dad King Rhoam (or Harkinian) and a few aristocrats. We need more diversified accents ta be more diverse. In a Japanese dub, we need Shimono Hiro as Link (talkin' like a casual Yankii punk), Seto Azami as Zelda (talkin' like a princess like Raphtalia from The Risin' o' the Shield Hero), Ostuka Akio as Ganondorf (same voice as Iskandar in Fate Zero). We need an OG story w/ references to the Bible verses and the symbolism, like the Hylian Shield as Shield of Faith and the Master Sword as the sacred sword o' the Spirit. Plus the green tunic w/ the green hat (w/ the long-sleeved shirt AND pants or shorts) bein' Link's main outfit as a symbol of a new life, a new beginnin', freedom without the broken chains, resurrection, and hope.

AND we could use Bible verses that fit each character perfectly. Link's more like Iesous (our Savior's Greek name) as a common young man AND a lion by his courage, so we're gunna need Bible verses fittin' for that lionheart courage. Zelda's like Esther as female monarch w/ wisdom on the right course of action (even when askin' fer help). Ganondorf's like the dark prince Satan (meanin' the adversary) in bein' a warlord hungry fer power, a master at manipulation, a thievin' murderer, and a dark enemy who loses big time in the end.

an animated tv series would be sooo much easier to adapt and maintain many of the elements from the games that we love that don’t translate well to live action. also tv allows A LOT more time dedicated to lore, plot and world building plus the turn around time from season to season is a lot easier

I'd love for there to be a Zelda anime that's maybe 20+ episodes honestly if they it were to be animated. A 2 hour movie probably wouldn't do this phenomenal series justice.

@@oniran they can easily do the series justice in a 2-hour live action movie they just need to make an original story that's NOIT based on any of the existing games like they said in the video also, animation tend to go from great to worse overtime due to budget limitations we don't need it to be extra flashy like most anime series, we just want it simple to incorporate 3D seamlessly with the 2D plus, thanks to the Planet of the Apes reboot series, mocap acting has improved tremendously, so they could easily bring those races to life with state-of-the-art CGI, just put Andy Serkis in charge of the mocap coaching and things will be ok lastly, it's Nintendo's decision on whether it's gonna be fully animated like the recent Mario Bros movie or live-action, so no matter what we say won't change anything with Sony Pictures part of the production, they could once again use their animation division to bring the series in a unique style like what they did with the Spider-Man Spiderverse series

One guy on youtube created a game of thrones version of Zelda called Hyrule Conquest AKA Hyrule Total War back in the day and The story telling on it was so good, it should've been a major mini series. It has a bit of vibe that anyone can recognize very easily. If they are going to make a movie they should look at some works made by fan creators.

Speaking of Zelda as a companion, her relationship with Link is the most important part that should be included to the original story. They started out as best friends at the beginning since childhood. Both are carefree children until Link pulls the Master Sword to which caused him to silent himself now he is carrying the burden of being Hyrule’s hero he did not ask for. As the story progresses, pair learned to trust one another, to rely on, and to help each other overcome their own personal challenges as their relationship grow into something more. A similar love story to Skyward Sword and BOTW/TOTW but the Zelda movie stand on its own. .

The thing about Link's characterization is that none of the official manga adaptations for the games ever portray Link as quiet and introverted. Many some like the Ocarina of Time manga actually do depict Link as cocky, wisecracking and outright chatty.

I think the first movie should basically be Link going through a dungeon to get the master sword. There should also be flashbacks to why he's doing this and how he knows how to solve the puzzles. The dungeon could be based on the forest dungeon from OoC but with the Hookshot being the dungeon item. Phantom Ganondorf would be a great boss to tease the series future. A second movie should be Ganondorf going from somewhat benevolent leader of the gerudo to being corrupted by the Triforce of Power and usurping the king of Hyrule. The third movie should be Zelda raising and army to fight Ganondorf (this is where the different races come into play) and enacting a plan for Ganondorf and Link to have a one on one confrontation.

1. Because of how much lore is in the Zelda Franchise, it would be better suited for a TV show. Each season building up to a final boss. 2. Like how Avatar set up Ozai and how the MCU set up Thanos, Ganon should be the big bad of the story. If it gets at least two sequels, I hope Ganon is saved for the end of the trilogy. 3. MAKE LINK TALK! That's all I'm gonna say. 4. No complicated timeline please.

An epic Koji Kondo soundtrack has been sorely missed over the last couple of games. I would love that to be in the movie! I agree with all points in the video. I loved the series since I first played ALTTP on the SNES 30 years ago. Unlike some people, I’m down for a live action, original story, even if I'd also love some limited anime series adaptation. I just want for it to be great! Link needs to be fairly reserved but should definitely talk and casted as by a fairly lesser known actor. But he'll need a great and fun supporting cast along his journey. I hope they use practical effects when possible but would love some good CGI too. I hope for some of the music to even be a part of the story as it is in several of the games. I also hope he's left handed too just as a nod to most of the Links of the games, as Link should've always been. The story should have a lush and thriving Hyrule that may get ruined and not one that's already post-apocalyptic. A story that doesn't rely use too many if any flashbacks and instead just has the story and lore building throughout. They could even have a young Link that gets older. I'm hoping for something that's timeless and epic, not just a funny movie kids will like.

Its almost like my mind manifested this list. Especially the Original Story part. We Zelda nerds who play the games religiously will have a mystery going and the movie won't turn into a checklist or a walkthrough in movie form Regarding Dungeons. I'm thinking either 1 big dungeon for 30-40 minutes. Or 2-3 smaller dungeons for 15-20 minutes each. Regarding Link. A man of few words is what I hope they do with Link with good writing. I'll side with Link being an C-B list actor and cool if they find one left handed. Regarding 5 I echo Zelda being a teammate like Spirit Tracks. Heck she hasn't really been much of a Damsel in Distress in the 3d games anyway. but I don't want them to make her the Mary sue and Link the joke like Peach and Mario were inching on being in that film.

After seeing the AI, I'm convinced that Tom Holland should play Link for the live action Zelda movie. For the first movie, I think it should be based on NES Zelda 1 and SNES LttP. It would be nice to see Link have to face his dark self (NES Zelda 2). I guess it all depends on how they want to pace using the source materials. I did love the story for Link's Awakening, and the Oracle games as well. I couldn't get into the newer games, so perhaps those could be used for the sequel. But ultimately if they are wanting to go for a trilogy like Sonic, there is still enough source material to draw from to create character development.

Whomever they cast, I hope the actors have really good chemistry. Link’s actor should be able to convey a whole lot without saying a word, and since they come as a duo, they should be able to really show us a connection through their acting choices with each other. A lot harder to bring to life in live action, esp with limited dialogue. I hope they find the right talent.

1: Link stays introverted but charismatic by his cold and calm nature... A Soldier attitude. 2: A try-out 2 and half hours movie based by Ocarina of Time. If we make an hour and half movie, it will need more. And if they try something new, it better NOT MISS or else, it will be a massive failure!! It's not like Mario which is overall all the same but we can add humorous stuffs unlike Zelda that is varied! The actors, if they do good jobs, a 100M$ actor that does a good job and looks like the characters, I have NO PROBLEM! If they try to do a movie based by the games, Ocarina of Time is the best try out. A 2 and half hours movie, we can put EVERYTHING necessary in this movie. Plus the background, flashbacks, races, environments and dungeons. Skyward Sword, it needs a part 2 at least! Breath of the Wild, 3! A Link to The Past, Twilight Princess and Wind Waker, too niche! And Majora's Mask, even if it's my favorite... WAY TOO DARK!

Just like you guys said, I'm hoping for an original story and hoping that they only have references to previous games. I am hoping that we see at least one dungeon and its boss. Link can't talk in the game. If he does, than it would just go back to the cartoon, which I didn't really care for "well excuuuse me princess." Man, that was so annoying. Anyway, I really would like unknown actors to play at least Zelda and Link. I want a villain type A list actor to play Ganondorf though because I want a good back story just like Tears of the Kingdom did.

Zelda should have been animated. Mark Wahlberg should have been Nathan Drake instead. I think that was considered at one point. It's better than being Max Payne. Mark didn't look badass enough for the role.
