RE2 remake is not a perfect remake people don't really look at the fact that it's actually only 1 scenario because the difference between A-B routes with either of the characters are too miniscule and has a few plot holes such as characters Birkin transforming multiple times and Annette dying multiple times compared to the original where stuff like that wasn't a thing and the events were going accordingly taking into account everything that's happened in the story and not repeating the same thing that happened before which logically isn't supposed to happen again

Yep, even the story for re2 remake was on point; the characters felt so real: Sherry, Chief Irons, Leon, Marvin etc were all pretty well written. Re4 remake on the other hand just wasnt on the ball. Its a great game nonetheless but i couldnt understand everyone complaining about Adas voice actor when the story in general was just okay to say the least. Anyway im glad both got a remake because they are still epic to play

Its a great game, one of 3 pinnacle moments for the franchise. But, the early games all suffer from the same problem: tank controls did not age well. Actually, they didn't age at all which is why they died, so I get why the earlier entries are a bit low, even on today's standards. Im replying 1 Remastered and what enfuriates me the most are the controls lol

OG RE4 is not only one of the best RE games, it's one of the best video games ever made. Up there with the likes of Super Metroid, Super Mario Bros 3, Chrono Trigger, Breath of the Wild, MGS3, Half Life 2, Metroid Prime, Ocarina of Time, Ninja Gaiden Black, DMC3, Street Fighter 2, and others. It belongs to a very elite list of video games.

6 at least tries to be ambitious with its 4 campaign setup. Yeah the story sucks and goes on for too long (barring Ada's campaign which is short) but it tried and simply got too much hate for its action focus. You get the idea. 0 however had too much backtracking because of the lack of item boxes, the eliminator enemy, and the limited inventory (*cough cough* hookshot).

RE4-6 took a dump on that changing the genre to Action Horror as well as changing the gameplay to over the shoulder 3rd person shooter. It's a very different experience that doesn't compare to the og survival horror games.

RE4 remake is incredible. I knew they would do the original justice but I didn’t think they could make it the definitive version. The gameplay creates a much better challenge over the original. No longer can you instant head stagger, melee then knife. Now it requires to actually have aim, staggers aren’t guaranteed and your knife isn’t infinite (playing with the original knives).. the enemies flanking and having sharper movement makes the game more challenging as well. Professional feels like professional now. The back tracking additions are so much better, the parrying system is excellent, the treasure system as well, the boss fights are more challenging, the optional mini bosses are great, the story has a more serious tone, the island chapter is done better, the shooting range is done better and holy crap separate ways is now a must play that completes the story. It’s literally its own mini game within a big main game. Masterpiece of a game !!

@ trash how ? Leon’s character actually makes sense now. It never made sense how he went from a serious rookie cop to a cocky one line super spy. His remake character stays aligned with both games. Ashley gets mentally tougher as the game goes on and starts to earn Leon’s trust more as it go. The back story between Leon and krouser was a great addition that makes him a boss with meaning and not just some random roadblock. If you said you didn’t like some of the new voices, I understand that… but the characters are more fleshed out and that’s why the story is better told in the remake

I prefer RE6 ovr RE5. In RE6, i can move while I'm aiming, and there were many moments that scared me. RE5, I thought, was cheesy and frustrating. Don't force me to disagree with the unpopular opinion of RE6 being good or slam my opinion by saying it was never good, because that's way more frustrating than RE5 gameplay.

My ranking takes into account historical importance and how each game shaped the franchise, if I were to rank them based on how enjoyable and relevant they are to play today, my ranking would be as follows: 1- Resident Evil 4 Remake (2023) 2- Resident Evil 2 Remake (2019) 3- Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (2017) 4- Resident Evil Village (2021) 5- Resident Evil 3 Remake (2020) What we need is: 1- A new Resident Evil Remake 2- Resident Evil 9 3- Resident Evil - Code: Veronica Remake 4- A new version (or DLC) of Resident Evil 3 Remake (Reintroduce cut areas, add more side missions, make Nemesis encounters like Mr. X in RE2, include more puzzles and secrets, expand the story, develop Jill and Carlos' relationship with more dialogue, and add extra game modes like Mercenaries) Beyond that, they are free to take the series in any direction they choose.

Also no mercenaries mode and some dumb resistance mode. Still 3make is a fine game but it was lazy and short but fun. 6 at least tried to be ambitious.

I don’t agree resident evil 5 should be that low on the list. It really was a great entry and a fun multiplayer game. It’s also one of the best selling resident evil title. Personally I always treated Sheva as a “pack mule” and just gave her a pistol and not much of any importance.

For me, RE7 is the best of the series. It meant a huge risk that resulted in an extremely horrifying and entertaining videogame. No one expected it to be so good. Of course, it did not had the same influence that RE4 had in its time over game industry, but it did change the RE universe paradigma blending all what previous games have done well in a new mix of first person survival horror that creeps you out throghout the whole experience while being absurdly fun despite it's high dificulty. Top 2 and 3 could be for RE2 and RE4 remakes, but as they are so good in its own way it could be a tie imo.

For me, 5 is worse than 6. 6 was at least a decent sci-fi/horror shooter game that simply had no business being a Resident Evil entry. 5 felt more like some no-name studio's attempt at copying Resident Evil 4 after only ever playing a demo of it.

Resident Evil 4 (original and Remake) and Resident Evil 6 are my Favorites. The original RE4 being, well, the original, while the Remake is such an improvement of the original. RE6 surely is a mess, but those issues doesn’t lessen my enjoyment, and the combat of this game is such a blast. I never get tired of dual wielding pistols as Leon, even put great use of Jake’s hand to hand combat skills.

@@brokenbutterfly9 Combat is a whole lot better. Honestly, I’m never a fan of the tank controls. RE4 Remake has awesome combat, being able to parry melee attacks, and I really like moving and shooting. I like Remake’s Luis more, and I also like Remake’s Ashley more than the original version. Speaking of Remake Ashley, she’s more likeable and a bit more helpful than her og counterpart. Remake Leon is the same as the original RE4 Leon, but a bit more brooding. Not going to say much about Remake Ada, and yes, original RE4 Ada is more likeable. Villains are a bit same, except that bad guys such as Salazar and Saddler are more terrifying. Original Krauser is cool, but Remake Krauser is better, due to his backstory and all. I felt more sympathetic towards Remake Krauser when he was killed by Leon. Albert Wesker is, well, Albert Wesker, and of course he doesn’t do much until the later game. So yeah, RE4 Remake is more fun and enjoyable than the original RE4 in most ways.

This is actually a fairly decent list save for a few bad placements. RE1 Remake at no. 7! Seriously! Also, I believe RE6 should be higher, but I know few will agree with me on that one. I am glad to see Village placed highly, as it definitely deserves it. I also think RE2 and RE4 REmake taking the top spots is at least arguably correct. Especially with the Seperate Ways DLC, it's hard to argue against RE4 REmake being Capcom's finest hour!

Lost me with RE Remake and Nemesis being so high. Personally the original RE Remake is the pinnacle of the series. It respected the source and added on to it. RE 2 Remake was also excellent but butchering the b scenarios really hurt its rating for me.
