They got some serious blowback for doing that from vocal sections of the Muslim community, particularly the Mullah Maulana class; and the political opponents of the BJP and the ideological opponents of the RSS. They just don't want the Muslims to talk to be Hindu side. SC had a very interesting and insightful observation or judgement that approximately meaning that Masjid's built illegally do not qualify to preach religious sermons and therefore has to face demolition. Uttarakhand is doing exactly the same. We donot understand in the discussions about so much of sympathy for Muslims. Already PFI had a very concrete plan of turning India into an Islamic State by 2047 and this point has come in black and white by the top Islamic Institution in UP who admitted that this objective of Islam "Ghazva Ae Hind" is being taught to Muslim children in Madrassas. Any comments on this ? There has to be a clear cut definition of minority based on the population strength of say less than 2 or 5% and must be categorized at state level.

Enjoyed pretty much listening to you two. Glad to hear insights and just a few hopes that I have from the Prime Minister: 1) The BJP whips on communal hardliners and reinforces CMs to development and improving life quality of the masses and not adopting vindictive programs. 2) A Uniform Civil Code is brought in which is truly uniform and not vindictive and not carrying signs of some of regressive Hindu customs. 3) BJP becomes Bhartiya in the true sense with its gates open to all. Another hope is that the opposition gets its acts together, and instead of feeling defeated takes on the government in the true sense.

As quoted by one professor from AMU during the Wire's interview, "Muslims want the nation to be secular but they want to remain communal". Until and unless, this dilemma is solved, BJP will keep communalizing Hindus to counter it. You've to look at both sides of the coin. Today, Saudi Arabia is reforming its policies to liberalize Islam from its archaic practices whereas in India, any step taken by the Modi Government is seen as anti-Muslim policy. Look, the problem here is Muslims work on street power. There are feudal lords who control the votes and the ordinary Muslim is never allowed to break from that shackle. Had Congress worked really towards the progress of common Muslims, BJP would have never found that loophole to work on. Congress just fed the Muslim feudal lords like the Waqf board, Muslim Personal Law Board and collected votes through these organizations. MPLB will never allow implementation of Common civil code because that will close their shop.
