Nzara Hapana is our first single from our upcoming album " Tusona"
"This song is a letter by a man to his wife reassuring her that he loves her and is working hard to provide for her and the entire family. He has written a will designed to protect her in the event that he passes on. He highlights that he has noticed how women are abused and dispossessed of property by the husband's family and relatives if an inheritance will is not at hand. The man hopes that if he plans well and invests well, his family will not face any hardships."
Nzara Hapana means: as long as Im there and as long as I`m alive my loved ones will never suffer as I will provide.

Yes, this is the best and most exciting band outside of Southern Africa since the Bhundu Boys. They are more authentic and creative than the Bhundu Boys. They will live longer and be more successful than the Bhundu Boys. The mistake that the Bhundu Boys made or were forced to make was to try to appeal to British rock/pop sensibilities by moving away from their authentic Zimbabwean musical traditions. They wanted to be the African Beatles in England, instead of just being themselves. That was a mistake. Mokoomba have remained true to their cultural roots. They should never lose that.

After having listened to the album Luyando the past few weeks, I'm eagerly awaiting the new album. It's hard to beat songs like Kulindiswe (my favorite), Vimbe and Muzwile. Rising Tide is an interesting album in its own regard, but feels like a very broad fusion of many styles, whereas Luyando has a more cohesive style. Although I'm hoping for another well-balanced album like Luyando, I'll gladly listen to anything with real vocals and instruments from such a talented and emotionally driven band. When you want to sing along to languages you don't even remotely understand, you know the artists are doing an amazing job. And knowing Nzara Hapana has such a positive meaning makes me even a bigger fan.
