Sorum is a methodical machine. Dude just sides out like it’s nothing. Both these teams are the future of volleyball but man I love watching Sweden play. So dynamic!

Granted that Mol Sorum are just the GOAT, I really love how these two young dudes from Sweden are approaching beach volleyball in a completely new way. I am curious to see them facing some big server as that could put their "over on two'' play in serious trouble, and today Mol proved it.

really impressive game by SWE. sounds like hitting on option is their MO but this felt really smart against NOR in order to neutralize Mol's blocking. but it was quite a treat to see Sorum get a chance to show his stuff. he has beautiful offense. congrats Anders/Mol. hope to see another game with SWE soon

Yeah, whenever the blocker is serving, they want to hit the option to not give the blocker time to get to position. If the defender is serving,they want a good mix to force the blocker to choose to block option or third since it’s basically impossible to do both. The goal is to make life difficult for the blocker.

Sorum just stop it please, Dave was giving every last bit of his being to get a dig. What a game all 4 played exceptionally but it was all gonna come to Christians side out and that determined the game's result.

its kinda not so difficult to be unreal when...the set is unreal and u know your partner is the best blocker out there and nobody even wants to serve him

I really like these youngsters from Sweden! Super young, yet very mature plays and quite a lot of confidence. I love how they use the option play when Mol is serving. They' are pretty fast, so with such a game, they'll give trouble to a lot of teams. I want to follow them closely how they continue their progress - I think they have the potential to do what Mol and Sorum did - in just 2-3 years. Time will show.

Yeah, everyone is gunning for the 2024 Olympics. By the way, Åhman/Hellvig beat Mol/Sørum at the European championship last summer.

It is sad that such high level players have to play in front of virtually no fans in a top level tournament. I hope there is work going on in the background to increase promotion and try and get beach volleyball to a level it deserves

Great final contest - but That’s the video coverage quality? Very poor and a crowd of maybe 200 in a mini stand for an International Elite 16 grand final? What on earth is going on. ??

Absolutely agree! I've been to Gstaad several times ... it's a shame! Even worse in the Maldives, although it looked nice. But even a second level tournament would deserve at least some cheering fans!

Few years ago almost every pass was double & called (some teams even used bump set only for that reason), today it seems to be the exact opposite - SWE guys pass completely sideways and no fault called.

A double while setting has little to do, wether you set sideways or not.

Within 2 years SWE will win(constantly) NOR. They are the future. NOR is a solid nowadays.

The thing is that the Norwegians keep improving and setting the standard every single season. They play to win and never disappoint. The Swedish already won against them, but Mol and Sørum were able to adjust their game after the European Championships. That’s what makes them so hard to beat twice.

The Swedish will never be able to dominate this Norwegian team. The simple up and down game with a big blocker cannot be broken by the fancy fast game. It can be disrupted occasionally but never broken.
