Molanco, Australian harvest 2015

A video of harvest at Molanco, harvesting Wheat, Barley and Canola at Jerilderie NSW. John Deere and Kenworth are equipment used. Molanco is a family farming business run by the Moloney family.

Wheat yields ranged from 2.5t/ha on dry land to 8t/ha irrigated, barley was very similar. Canola 1.5t/ha. We get 25-40t/hr out of the headers depending on conditions, 10-15 in canola. We may be looking for staff next harvest, nov/dec.

Many australian vids that I watched and I wounded why are you keeping some isolated trees in your fields? Is there an advantage or something?

Wasn't it a hundred years ago that about 70% of the workforce worked in farming due to the lack of machinery , we live in fortunate times .
