Love your videos! Your explanations are very clear and simple. While I was watching this video, my daughter was nearby, and asked me why was I watching frozen without her... I noticed later the song! 😁

Hi doctor.. Do you do such treatments ???

These kinds of visualization are really helpful, sir. Keep up the good work.

Sir, your videos make biomechanics really easier to understand, thank you. Just a small request, try using the background sound on a lower volume, it gets distracting sometimes. Your videos are sooo needful that they will be great even without sound.😊

Very nice presentation. Only one thing to add: in clinical scenario the teeth 33,34,35 might move 1/2-1mm to the distal due to molar crown pulling them back (rowboat effect). bonding one of the teeth to the screw (preferably with stiff wire)would negate this effect. Personally I thought You would prefer a cantilever in this case ;) much easier to apply clinically then insert anything from distal in Buccal tube in patient’s mouth.

Good observation. In the simulation, I've stopped the conjugation in the 33 because it was part of the rigid model. In the clinic, I use a rigid segment from 35 to opposite molars. Even with this care, you're correct about the possible side effects. In relation to the cantilever, it would produce a significant and undesirable extrusion, especially in a real scenario in which extrusion occurs faster than the mesial root movement.

@@essentialbiomechanics9381 thank You for Your quick reply. Have You thought about ligating the terminal molar to the mini screw to negate the extrusive effect?
@maciejwarnecki90603 жыл бұрын
And regarding the extrusive force: it can be effectively minimized by increasing length of the cantilever or bending loops to increase M/F ratio. But You are 100% correct in saying it would occur clinically faster than mesial root movement (especially in high angle patients)

This is a possibility if you use the mechanics with a cantilever. But a flexible ligature in diagonal direction is not a perfect anchorage to avoid both vertical and horizontal movements.

The design showed in this video was customized using a specific software for testing loop configurations. You can find more information on: Understanding orthodontic loop preactivation. It is best to use reverse-Thread screw in third quadrant as in this case (screwing in counterclockwise motion). This way the moment acting on the screw will even reinforce its position.
