Really love your videos, crazy skills and great teaching methods. I’ve learned so much from you since I took up tying 1.5 years ago. Thank you! And who doesn’t enjoy some good Lance Egan shade? Lol.

Love your videos. Always done to perfection. My question, as a retired dentist we have been using curable resin material (composite) since the 70s and we ALWAYS use eye protection. I never see anyone's fly tying videos talk about this. You can have your dentist purchase for you, an eye shield. Obviously this is very important and I can't get an answer from Orvis or 3m who I think invented (or was instrumental in bringing curable material to the market) to answer this. I for one would shut my eyes, or use eye protection.

Wow beautiful pattern. Nice tie, instruction and videography! I am definitely tying up some of these! I really appreciate learning from the masters. My fly tying (while not great) is light-years ahead of where it would be without quality videos like yours.

Lance and I are actually friends, we just like throwing shots back and forth. As Lance says, “luckily, neither one of us have very good aim”…it’s all in fun.

This version beats the shit out of your other version, which is all frizzy dubbing on the thorax. Well done.

Aaaah shit, here we go again. Now will have to buy these stripped peacock quills :( seriously, awesome fly. Thanks for sharing. Will use the opportunity to ask- these protruding wing flies… fir which time of the year they are meant? Sorry, layman here…
@dunk76892 жыл бұрын
If you take an eraser to a herl you can rub it gently and strip the quill yourself, time consuming but it saves you buying something else. Midges work year round but are particularly good in the winter and early spring before other insects start hatching. You see them a lot on tailwaters

@@dunk7689 aaaah! That’s very interesting. Will sure try this trick with an eraser :) and thanks a zillion Jake for taking your time for reply- very good to know! Cheers mate, tight lines!
