Excellent panel discussion, thanks to all involved

Before watching this I’m already excited after watching Profs Lane and Szostak videos.

Really hope that Dr. Nick Lane can come lecture in the U.S. in the near future! Love his books!

Brian Cox and Nick Lane remind me so much of each other, with the former being slightly effeminate and the later slightly on the more masculine side.

Not enough questions and answers can be asked or answered in such a conference to elucidate the origin of life scenario. A thorough scenario was completed in 2018 and has been updated as new findings come to light. It is a story of physics and chemistry/ biochemistry.

I had a question for Mr. Szostak from the "origin of life" video, but comments are turned off there. ....does everything change and therefore everything evolve? If yes, then "origin" of life equates to evolution of life and potentially, to at least some degree, equates to evolution of other more fundemental things like electrons, quarks, etc...

If we were able to terraform other planets it would be easier and cheaper to not screw this one up in the first place. {:-:-:}

FOCUS? Channel? How do you do either naturally? Aren’t theses mutually exclusive propositions?

Mutation is random and preceeds selective evolution. The mutation of meat digesting enzymes preceeded adopting meat consumption.

I have questions about the RNA molecule in living organisms The RNA molecule created DNA So through the process of division and cloning evolved single cell I have questions about the RNA molecule How was this molecule first formed on Earth? At that time there was no oxygen in the sky and the sun was strong The heat and the beam are deadly There was no ozone layer in the sky How did this biological molecule evolve from non-living matter? What factors have helped to form this RNA molecule? Can a biological molecule be created in such harsh conditions? The fifth question about RNA Do you Can RNA copy itself? We hope you collect the number of errors in the manufacture of RNA In order to benefit from those mistakes For the manufacture of RNA from non-living materials More RNA should be manufactured After RNA molecules are made, they must be monitored by a microscopic camera Please send the five questions to the chemists

The truth is all this is non scientific propaganda. RNA never assembled itself and DNA never assembled itself. Its biochemically impossible. Plus: its impossible a cell assembled itself. Its which thinking enough clever scientists have demonstrated that this never happened and can never happen...

Lizards never evolved from fish either. Those fish that he is mentioning are a special species that are still found today and never changed till today. These fish dont become lizards anymore. Bacteria that have mutations are undergoing adaption or mikroevolution. They adapt but remain Bacteria. A lizard or a bird can adapt but they always remain what they are and the fossil record shows just this.

The first living organisms around 4 billion years ago are thought to be anaerobic (the later oxygen catastrophe caused a extinction of the primordial life forms and no evidence remains of them). They existed in the Oceans (likely deep) and underground protected from the UV and other hostile to life electromagnetic radiation). Deep sea vents are a possibility for the earliest life forms. Photosynthetic Cyanobacteria is what transformed the atmosphere of the Earth to an oxygen environment (and caused the Oxygen catastrophe) and almost caused an extinction of all life on Earth. Cyanobacteria as a species are similar to Humans in the opposite way in changing the Carbon Dioxide-Oxygen cycle. Take for instance the stupid extremely energy inefficient motor vehicles that humans misuse. You could term the Human caused one the Carbon Dioxide catastrophe. As to RNA it might be of extraterrestrial origin (panspermia perhaps from Mars or Venus?) no certainty either way. There have been demonstrations of chemical evolution acceleration of RNA in clay material

Great old songs *_"Can RNA copy itself?"_* Yes, RNA has autocatalytic capabilities and can catalyse it's own synthesis. Ignore all those religious fanatics who say otherwise. They are lying to you, or too ignorant to know the difference. But you cannot look at molecules with microscopic cameras. You monitor mutations in nucleic acids by sequencing. If you look up Jack Szostaks lectures, he goes in to the formation of lipid bilayers and mechanisms by which the earliest nucleic acid species could have formed. {:-:-:}

These people boosting here know nothing about it. They are disciples of Darwinism and fill the gaps of impossibilities with their faith in cosmic accidents and random accidents that create order and purpose out of chaos and meaningless. I watched lots of this kind of videos and read lots of biology books over this topic. And I saw nothing solid but big words and claims and also of course theories which are of course very too natural to explain the nature. Unfortunately biology is not precise and well defined as physics or chemistry. There are no laws, no equations no logics. Just trees of Darwinism
