Moleskine Sketchbook Flip Through

Join me for a more in-depth sketchbook flip through (started March 22, 2019, and finished May 27, 2019). I will discuss my intentions for this sketchbook (continuing my thoughts from my sketching daffodils video) and the importance of giving your creativity some space and allowing yourself to just play. I did enjoy this trip through your book. I think you're pretty good. Doing this everyday is a good idea, I agree. It's so easy to get rusty . I just ordered a moliskine sketch book , haven't tried it yet. I'm quite new at watercolor, but enjoying it a lot. It's so rewarding when someone tells me that they see my progress. Does anybody know, if this is the paper, that they new Moleskines 165gr Art Sketchbooks come with? I care about the tone of the paper mostly, so, I'd appreciate any feedback please.

Love these drawings! So I was wondering wether to get the watercolour one or not, can I use watercolour on the regular moleskine sketchbook?? Xx

Hey I really don't recommend it. I have the regular Moleskin. The pages are really thin and the sharpies and markes ghost through the page. I'm looking for a new one. But I haven't tried the watercolor Moleskin. 🎨

Thank you! Not sure what you mean by 'regular' Moleskine but for watercolor you definitely want a heavier weight paper, preferably watercolor paper. Normal notebook or journal paper really doesn't handle the water well and I would not recommend it.

You mention that this is *not* a watercolor sketchbook, but the video features you doing watercolors in it. So, you *can* use it for watercolors?

You can use any paper for watercolors. But with non watercolor paper the paper gets quite more rumbled than it would in a watercolor sketchbook

Oh I know I am too late. But I want to say a suggestion. Some of your paintings have no background. If you paint background it will look more beautiful. I think background is really an important thing in a painting. I just figured it by my experience. Your paintings are adorable and beautiful. ☺☺

Aww thank you for that! Art is always a work in progress. I go to pixabay.com for a lot of my reference photos but its also great to take some yourself. Happy painting!
