Her flat picking is good, but she was completely destroyed by Tommy Emmanuel in another video. Everything is relative.
@markthompson33987 ай бұрын
Sorry steam loco you don’t have to be the total Tommy Emanuel virtuoso to bring joy to the world and Molly does just that. As a guitarist of 50 years (I started late) I am in awe of Tommy but Molly brings me more simple joy.

Saw John Hartford solo with just his banjo, fiddle and a sheet of plywood on which he tapped out the rhythm. He said he was grateful to Glen Campbell for all the royalties that allowed him to afford such an elaborate stage set.

Years ago I first became aware of john...I had obviously heard this song, but didnt know who John hartford was.... I bought a VHS banjo instructional taught by this cat named john hartford...in the pack with the VHS, was this paper foldout that you layed out on the floor...it was like a twister game for your feet only....didnt make no sense till I started watching the video...you could learn to tap out rhythm with john.....good times.....heaven became bonafide when john strolled thru those pearly gates....

Somebody needs to give the Bass player some props. People don't realize how essential it is to have that clean, crisp beat laid down exactly 'in the pocket', and this woman is spot on. Kudos from a fellow Bass player! ...Oh yeah, and everyone else is kinda nice too lol. This is a great performance all round.

It's not a Glen Campbell cover; it's a John Hartford cover. Glen Campbell recorded it and it became a big, big hit. John Hartford made a boatload of money, was forever grateful to Glen and he moved back to his native Applaciahia where he could record and sing the song he wanted to sing. RIP John!

A very nice ensemble, fronted by the amazing Ms. Tuttle who grew up less than 20 miles from where I sit writing this. I gotta say the immensely talented and dedicated crop of young artists devoting themselves to acoustic music of all kinds is a bright spot in an often tumultuous world.

Molly is her typical superb self in this, both with her as-usual perfect vocal (her relaxed feathery quality with a hint of vibrato is perfect to tell the story in this lyric), and that insane yet effortless picking puts her out in front of most artists today! They're all at the top of their game here. Missy Raines is in the pocket on bass. Wes Corbett is an impressive virtuoso on that banjo! John Mailander is just right, especially on his solo, keeping all the favorite classic parts of the fiddle in the Campbell recording. Well done, guys!

Molly nailed this timeless classic and the band was spot on! Molly's voice is like an angel on this beautiful song. Had the pleasure of meeting the songs writer "John Hartford" many years ago in Nashville one rainy afternoon at Gruhn's Guitars. Myself and 2 other guys got a private concert. What an interesting talent! We all visited over an hour or more and I learned John was from St. Louis same as me. A very memorable day!

Molly does such a superb job on this John Hartford classic. While her guitar picking is perfection, as a singer and performer I'm amazed at her memory of all these lyrics that flow like water over steep falls - and, she obviously isn't reading off a teleprompter. Amazing!

So much of country music before it became pop music and catered to its audience was and is a nataunal treasure. Art has an integrity and power of its own that looses Itself in its condescending to the masses. As in everything we are just sits wonderous eyed observers and travelers and in its good faith its treasure provide.
