I watched this young woman as she grew from a child to an adult, often at the Grass Valley Festival where I worked as entertainment Coordinator for years, Also knew her father. It was Wonderfull seeing her musical talent develop. One thing has struck me about how this music has changed over the years. Carter and Ralph, Bill, even second generation musicians and vocalists all have performed drawing from their personal experience, from the Post WWII time until the recent past. Being almost 80 years old the older music speaks more me than this. Listening to performers with this level of talent I am reminded that I am unfamiliar with the elements of their life That motivates their music. We can no longer expect songs that spring from the Rural background that the founders experienced. We can no longer find new songs that spring from the same context that brought us Blueridge Cabin Home, Tennessee 1949 and other songs of this type. It is bitter sweet to see how the music has developed. This young woman is as talented as they come, we can't expect her to follow the tracks of Cater and Ralph, Larry Sparks, even Charlie Waller and the Country Gentlemen. I guess we old-timers will have to play the old ones ourselves and learn to enjoy this newer music, especially when it is as well done as this is; Congratulations Molly, I like what you are doing, especially the high standards you have brought to the music.. You are still in the process of forming your own sound, listen to your experience but don't forget where the music came from. God's Blessings

Donald, thank you for your insights and observations. Great songwriters will often tell you to write what you know about. These young bluegrass artists like Molly and Billy Strings are writing great songs that are going to last. While it's their experiences that go into the writing, they both have great respect for the artists and songs that came before them. The genre does have to grow and stay contemporary to survive. The good news is, the young listeners that artists like Molly attract, will find the old stuff and it will always be appreciated. Because of Molly and a host of other great young artists and bands, bluegrass is probably the most exciting genre of music today.

Come across Molly Tuttle video demonstrating a guitar. Was so impressed I looked her up. As an Australian I will never love bluegrass particularly, although I can appreciate the skills of any music, and so I personally think its fantastic to see her trying to transcend the genre. Its a long way to the top no matter how much talent you have, and as my dear old dad used to say, "its better to journey than to arrive". Anyhow I bought the cd and hav had a great hour listening to the music. Hope it keeps developing, the very greatest find ways to keep growing.

So gratifying to see Molly's career taking off! Playing larger sit-down venues, performing mostly originals with some covers (as opposed to the other way around), networking with artists, producers and others across the industry, with appearances here, at the Opry, on the cruise last year with several big names, winning IBMA Guitar 2 years in a row. Her voice is transformed from where it was just a few years ago, also her songwriting. Such strength! Beautiful lady!

This song so distinct real and poignant just beautiful. I just brought it jan. 1st 2020. This kind music is what we need not an electronic freeze dried ready made package factor made to serve as a song . Noone is perfect, the raw human element in the singer the emotion is what resonant with the audience period; that connection which encompassed on all levels. Thanks to Fil Henley at wings of pegasus channel on youtube, he does analysis on stars and legends music. He said Ms. Molly's music singing and guitar spot on excellent. Just almost perfectionism believe and I agreed especially the guitar. I am left handed guitar, violin and relearning after my accident . This song just hit me and had to buy it,and that's good enough for me..... Good evening and Happy New Year. Thanks.

She is that rare and genuine artist, a songwriter whose songs touch us all at so many different levels, and a hauntingly amazing performer drawing us to her arts through raw and sincere humanity yet intertwined with vocal and guitaristic wizardries. She is and will be bringing bluegrass so much more into the mainstream. By the way, I checked out WGBH Music channel. You guys are amazing. Just subscribed. Nice to see Molly receiving such well deserved recognition. Her clawhammer technique on "Save This Heart" & "Take The Journey" is just jaw dropping. Her excellent band is balanced in the mix perfectly by the crew at WGBH. At only 26, this former child prodigy, has blossomed into a bonafide bluegrass superstar. So classy and humble in interviews, I look forward to her increased popularity and collaborations with other artists.
