Agreed, Metallica is my favo band abd there are def similarities...melodic metal plus dual harmony lines. Syn is a beast, and Jimmy was one of the top 15 drummers, in my opinion

Yes they've said Metallica was an inspiration of there's. I've taken Nikki my daughter since she was 13 to Mayhem festivals every year! This song (indeed the whole album) is mixed so well, every instrument is crystal clear. Also; M Shadows has such a great vocal technique. I've seen them twice live and he sounds just as good live as he does on the records, never out of breath and sustains a note so well.

Nightmare is a banger to me and one of their best. A7X have become my favourite band of the 21st century. Afterlife, Bat Country, Buried Alive, A little Piece of Heaven, The Stage, So Far Away and Size the Day are just some of their great songs. They have too many great songs to listen them all. You also need to listen to SOAD album Toxicity. One of the best Alt Metal albums ever. Get on the A7X train they are awsome. They are so varied in their songs. I think you will also like Bullet For My Vallentine. Try Scream Aim Fire, Tears Don't Fall and Waking The Demon. Seen them live 3 Times.

This and shepherd of fire are a couple of my favourite heavier tracks of theirs. Gunslinger is another that’s great but a different vibe. I love when metal bands start really incorporating baroque and classical violin note patterns into their riffs and solos. Muse (though not exactly heavy metal) do similar stuff with the guitar parts

You might not see thisas it's been 2 months but... Avenged Sevenfold is the band the got me into playing guitar. Each album has a unique sound to it. They don't sound like eachother. A lot of people dislike Avenged but it definitely seems like a bandwagon thing. I assume after the original drummer past The Rev, people didnt like that they changed their sound a lot on Hail to The King with Arin Ilejay. Their current drummer Brooks Wackerman is amazing and brought back some of that original sound. I recommend listening to the songs of all of the albums at once if you want a good idea of the discography they have, rather than one album at a time. Bat Country, Second Heartbeat, Save Me, Exist, The Stage, Afterlife (not the music video, they shorten it.), God Hates Us and Eternal Rest are just a few of my suggestions! Love the reactions man! Edit; The lead guitarist Synyster Gates is amazing at guitar. His influences are all over the place and i've heard many people say his solos are unique. I've been playing for 9 years and I still can't play some of his solos
