A gift guide for the BLIND person on your list! (but also, anyone would love these things!)

Hi Molly! I'm Lotte, a blind woman from the Netherlands who lives with a golden doodle as her guide dog. I love your Christmas gift guide and actually add some to my own wishlist. I usually do presents with my mom, but this year we decided to do it a bit different. Since she's a cabin attendant, I sometimes get to fly with her (while she's working) for a very cheap rate. That is, if there's a seat left. We've been going on a trip around New Year's for quite some years now,. She's heading towards her retirement, so we target at specific destinations, experiences and memories that have been on our bucket list. She'll be working to Las Vegas this year, and fingers crossed I get to go with her. If I make the flight, we've rented a car and drive out to each Valley, where we'll spend the night. We're also looking to go see a tribute music show to Elton John and Billy Joel in Las Vegas. . The costs of going on a trip like this are similar to a reasonable Christmas shopping haul, so this is our gift to ourselves this year. If I don't make the flight, there's still an entire wish list left, because just like you, I love fashion, skincare, and obviously my guide dog. Enjoy the holidays! @lottedebitter

You mentioned the Loops, as a neurodivergent retail worker, I invested in the Flare Calmer. You can still hear everything clearly, but the difference is incredible. Even with small ears, the minis were too small, and the other ones can fall out, but they're still 100% worth it.

8:33 Just FYI, regarding the light up balls, my dog is an aggressive chewer. The light up balls have small batteries inside. If you're a human that's ever been stupid or curious enough to touch a battery to your tongue, it does the same thing to dogs! Yes, my dog was supervised when we used a light up ball the first (and only) time. He immediately popped the ball and bit the battery. Part of the rubber that housed the battery got caught in his tooth, and we realized the battery was stinging/burning him when he immediately started clawing at his mouth. I got it out of his tooth, and he went to immediately drink a gallon of water (I have an 80-pound American Staffy). Good luck with the balls, they're definitely a monitor only toy if your dog's an aggressive chewer.

If you are buying for an autistic person, then I would recommend not buying them food items unless you know them extremely well. Many autistic people have ARFID which means that they have a very small list of safe foods. I know Molly has spoken about having ARFID and it affects her the most when she has anxiety, but for many autistics, it is a daily thing. Oh, and I must add that just because a certain food was my favorite last week doesn't mean that it will be on my safe food list this week. We will often eat our safe foods every day till we don't like them anymore. It is probably best to not buy autistic people food baskets unless as I mentioned you are one of their innermost social circle and know them extremely well.

nee doh has a 24 day advent calendar that I got for $20 at Walmart and I know that it is also online it gives you a huge variety of nee doh fidget toys. They are mostly all soft or squishy or stretchy nothing clicky but for me personally, that’s perfect because I hate a lot of excess noise. It can give me migraines even if it’s small quiet noises.

We're just people. I got a new stand mixer for Xmas last year and was tickled pink. So not the right gift for Molly. I too prefer that style of mitten. Another bonus is you can use your phone more easily. ime most conductive gloves cover the thumb, index, and middle finger but a lot of gestures I need for my phone take 3 or 4 fingers.

Molly, you might like the Lifelines Grounding Stones! They're little textured grey stones with a wrist strap, and they have various fidget things on them. Rolling silver beads, a clicker, a bead you can roll around in an hourglass. But the best part in my opinion, they slide open and reveal a little stone you can put your favorite scents on! They're cute, and I actually am making one into a pendant because the plain textured ones are cute

I use a light up collar on my toy cavapoo who is my service dog not for my sight loss but my point is coz she’s very small and black I couldn’t let her out at night before the collar highly recommended for those with light perception remaining My dog is for mental health in case u wondered

I am not blind but my recommendation is slime, a good quality brand is Peachy Bbies, which can only be ordered online. It is very relaxing to play with, and they come in different textures and fragrances too. It can sometimes get messy thought so especially if you are blind make sure to have a special activator liquid nearby, if your slime gets too liquidly you can make it more viscous by mixing some in. Also, play with it above some sort of plate to catch any charm pieces that may fall out.

Those mittens are called "shooting mittens", "shooting gloves", or "hunting mittens" because hunters use them in cold weather. The top flips back and leaves your fingers exposed for trigger finger dexterity. Obviously useful for other people like photographers, or anyone trying to read braile on a steel sign in the winter.

I've seen several people comment about how food is likely not the best present for autistic folks, but nobody has mentioned how multi-sensory art galleries are probably not a great idea either. Seriously, Molly, I have seen your videos on them, and while I am happy that you enjoyed them, a place like that would be torture for me. I know this video is intended for blind people, not autistics, but I can't help viewing things through a neurodivergent lens, and I just felt like a word of warning would not go amiss.

I love the idea of the glow in the dark dog collar! What a brilliant idea! (No pun intended!) I am sighted, but I have a couple of dark-colored cats who like to lurk in the deepest shadows of the hallway! An "I SEE you!" collar would be perfect to keep from tripping over them! Braille Legos??????? Please explain. Aren't Legos, by their very nature, sort of already "braille?" They are certainly tactile. May I suggest, before buying fragrances for anyone, check with them first. I have hay fever, and can only wear/use certain types of scents without ending up with itchy eyes or a sneezing fit. Overall, I think you suggestions were great! Keep up the cheeriness that is so "you." ;-)
