Aloha! This is very powerfully shared. I am a wife of a beautiful man who has struggled with addiction for over 30 years. It’s very challenging to not be able to help him as a healer myself. I hold space every day for him to want to be free from the grips of it. Watching him continue and allowing himself to justify it to himself and others. There has been so many opportunities energetically and astronomically that support this change needed yet nothing…we have a beautiful family and the children also hold space. I hear stories of death and success surrounding addiction and the strange world of that voided middle space we exist in within that aspect of life with him. I have had long term addictions with some of the lighter drugs through to the heavier drugs. Oh, and 26 years of chronic mental illness. Right now I'm in a much better place with both, and have just started a 2 year double diploma in alcohol and other drugs and mental health, with the end goal of being a particular kind of recovery coach, with recovery being something I have a lot of clocked hours doing pulling myself time after time out of addiction and picking myself up and dusting myself off after 10 nervous breakdowns including 3 hospitalisations over those 26 years. During one of the online zoom classes a statistic was shared with the class... that over 60% of people working in these fields have lived experience, and when the class started to share their experiences, it confirmed it. The job that I want to actually requires lived experience! Food for thought for Sarah or anyone else in the chat in a similar position. And yeah, I plan on incorporating a spiritual perspective with clients.

Over the past year my life has improved in so many ways. My gut has healed, I lost 15 pounds, I’m happier and not suicidal, my debts have cleared and I have savings now, I’m going work that ignites my soul, and I’m realizing just how beautiful life is. When you are sober- it is a gift to witness the layers of conditioning be striped away as each day brings you more and more clarity. Just take it day by day. See each moment as a fun experiment of you calibrating more and more to your highest expression. You got this! Also books are extremely helpful! The unexpected joy of being sober was the game changer for me❤

Sarah, thank you for sharing your story & Molly thank you for sharing as well. I lost my father to alcoholism. Afterwards I battled with addiction with opioids after back surgery. I tried to keep my addiction hidden, yet I was slowly dying in many ways. The universe woke me up in 2018 and I have been clean & sober without any desire for those substances and I also no longer suffer from chronic pain. I learned about energy, began to learn how to love myself (still an ongoing journey) and so much more. My life has changed in so many beautiful ways with the most amazing connections with family, friends and new people I continue to meet. Much love to you all! For Sarah and Molly… I’m deeply moved by the shared significance of becoming addiction free close to the Full Moon on August 3, 2020. My natal moon is in my 5th house at 20 degrees Aquarius, opposite my natal Pluto in Leo. On August 1, 2020, after struggling for decades to quit smoking cigarettes, in defiance of the limitations COVID had bestowed upon the world, the idea of FINALLY feeling DETERMINED to exert ULTIMATE power over my actions, I put my last cigarette out. In just a few days it will be my 4th year cigarette-FREE! I feel better than EVER and have grown to love myself sooo Deeply!!!
