No molten sugar is NOT automatically caramel, sugar melts before it turns into caramel. But you got to be really precise with the temperature.

This is actually a very fun experiment to do with water. Take your average tablesalt and heat it to its melting point. the hotter it is after that point, the better the results. then pour it into any container of water. the backyard scientist did a video on this, and it have to say, it got *explosive* results. You should really make a vid on this, guys

You'd be surprised by the things you can do with it. It even creates an explosion with shockwaves when put in water. That being homogeneous nucleation. Happening to the relatively cold water (even at room temperature) being rapidly heated but compressed, turning the surrounding water into gas making an explosion :3

As an extension of the molten salt into butter, try doing it with a bunch of popping corn kernels in the bottom to see if you can get salted/buttered popcorn

Since the canola oil worked so well (or at least it looked the coolest lol), I think you should try this again with all the different types of cooking oils like peanut oil, vegetable oil, etc. That'd probably make for a cool video, I think. :)

Zachary Scovel freeze means to go from liquid to solid, I'm pretty sure they knew that. I think they were asking to see propane changed into a solid. Plus it is not naturally a liquid, only under high pressure.

try filling a bucket with canola oil, and pour molten salt in. Because it would be bigger than the pot, try pouring different liquids in to get rid of the flames. Water, liquid nitrogen, etc.

Canola oil is used in forging to cool down glowing pieces os steel, so my guess is that the oil cooled the molten salt as soon as it fell into it, making those weird forms

Jack Bessant i now the difference when the lava has ash and steam inside it's magma when the volcano explodes and the magma's ashes are released it's lava. So if you melt basalt it will becomes magma because there will be a small amount of ash inside :)

Correct me if I'm wrong. But I believe the flashpoint of oil is the point where the oil will combust without an open flame, not the temperature it has to be to burn.

I learned that blowing on a fire won’t actually make it go out it helps keeps it alight but when u blow on a candle or something like that then it will go out I learned this in scouts
