However, those restrictions had a reason. As an adult I became productive and successful in my own right. Rules and strictioms have good reasons. when you become a parent you will understand it more, I promise.
@theundone7772 жыл бұрын
Someone replied that you'll understand more when you become a parent. That's BS. I have a 24-year-old daughter, I raised her to be responsible and to make good decisions to keep herself safe. But I sure as hell did not shelter her like this. Control does not keep your child safe. Having an open and honest relationship between the parent and child does help to keep the child safe. So as a parent, I focused on raising a person who is considerate, honest, and had integrity. I didn't need to control her makeup or what she wore in order to do that. As a matter of fact, doing that does not foster respect or communication. How about we treat our children like they are actual people with feelings and desires and concerns? As a side note, my parents are extremely controlling and most of us went no contact with them. My daughter and I have a really unique, super close friendship ( because she is an adult). My daughter also makes much better decisions than I did at her age.

There is such a difference between loving parents, neglectful parents and overly restrictive parents. Letting your kids have fun and live life/do kids things whilst they are kids. This is also really important to help them learn things as they progress thur life to becoming a adult. It is not neglectful if you, watch them and teach them wrong from right from the get-go and further more, if you are a good parent you shouldn't have anything to worry about to begin with; you should be able to trust your kids and they trust you. If you do worry/get anexity over your kids about silly things and you can't trust your kids and they can't trust you. This simply speaks to your inability to raise children. I can understand being worried about your children getting hurt and being in dangerous situations; it's a scary thought and a half! You always want them to be safe and cared for but you can't be super mom and super dad with 101 restrictions. That isn't helping them get thur life and they'll only look towards you with resentment and go behind your back to do things that are normal for everyone else. You're also shorting them alot of life experiences they need and setting them up poorly for later in life when they come into those situations and super mom/dad isn't around. They would likely make bad choice and end up getting really hurt physically or mentally or both! Possibly getting someone else really hurt as well. There is a proper way to parent each and every situation with children; and a improper way. It takes alot of practice, and knowing right from wrong. You could write a book on but I think everyone can get my point-
