My family is going through something similar, My Brother who currently serves in the airforce was in a abusive relationship and he was being hit by his woman and did nothing (before he joined the airforce) then my mom called her mom later and told her the situation and a whole argument broke out because her mom was hardheaded and started calling my mom names and how they will beat her up and they are gonna get people to jump a bunch of us when we dont expect it, my brother at his time was already going to the airforce, once he flew to his base thats when we were not able to see her My Niece, his daughter, my parents granddaughter, then she would use my Niece to blackmail my brother and say if he wants to see his daughter again he needs to send her X amount of money. My mom frequently tells him to take her to court but im not really sure what his thoughts are on it and he has since gotten a new girlfriend which has treated him way better, last time i saw my Niece was when he visited last Christmas
