I’m a newly single mom and fortunately live 30 min from Disney. After 6 months of doing about every other week of a small solo-mom day trip (when he’s at his dad’s), it’s still very difficult to go without my son. I still look around at all the babies and toddlers his age and look at all of the things he loves and miss him so much, but I know I have to take time for me to “fill that cup” in such a sensitive time in my life right now. I love spending my “me” time at Disney and finding myself again- I even hyped myself to ride Tower of Terror alone and that ride is terrifying to me 😂 I think solo trips are empowering (at Disney or anywhere else) and love videos like these that encourage that. Finding yourself again and taking love and care for yourself is so important to be able to fill your child’s cup to the max ❤️

Yes it is. Book a 1 night stay at a hotel in your city and do what makes YOU feel good … even if that means just sitting in the hotel room watching trashy tv, painting your nails, reading a book, and eating a whole Bag of Doritos to yourself 😂😂😂 you deserve it!

I'm only 7 or so minutes into this video and had to tell you that I so resonate with losing who you are when you are a mom. My boys are 16 and 13, so getting more independent and I find myself not even knowing what I like anymore! I have no idea what to do with myself these days. But starting to embrace rediscovering who I am as Tara and not just Mom. Thank you so much for this!

It's important for them to see your independent side and you choosing yourself when needed. Those are healthy things to model for them. BTW, why was my favorite part of this video you running to catch the MK bus. Honorable mention goes to "hi, bunny"...LOL

It actually makes me feel a little better that losing yourself in motherhood is a thing others feel too! I went to a naturopath recently and on our initial meeting she was asking me questions and getting to know me and she asked me what I liked to do. I sat there not knowing what to say and I started to cry! I have no idea what I like to do anymore 😢 Disney is something I love and I’ve been playing with the idea of just my husband and I going without the kids but it’s the mom guilt that kicks in….maybe I just need to do it! I just need to find myself again 💕
@sarahhunter499210 ай бұрын
Definitely do it!! My husband and I have gone without the kids twice and are going again this April (we have 4 kids)! It’s so fun. So relaxing, you can do what you want and go at your own pace. It’s just so important to have time to connect as a couple without kids constantly interrupting 😂 We love to go even without doing a park visit! We hop around to all the resorts and eat at different restaurants, get the refillable resort mugs and fill them at every stop, go to Disney Springs to shop and eat, and usually walk about 20,000 steps a day. It’s the best.

I did a solo trip 3rd week of January and it was the first time I had been away from my 2 and 4 yr old for more than 24 hours. I felt a lot of the same emotions. The whole finding yourself and what interests you is so true. I definitely came home a different mom. Healthier with a direction. I did a 5 night trip and it was probably a day or two too long but it definitely gave me some time to find myself. Glad you enjoyed your trip!!

I love this video. It's so inspiring. I talk in therapy all the time about feeling like I've lost my identity since I've become a wife/mom/stay-at-home parent. And then digging even deeper realized how much I never really knew what I wanted even before this because my personality makes me the type of person who puts everyone first and forgets myself completely. I wish I had the financial capacity to take a solo trip, really anywhere right now, but especially to Disney, so I'm just sitting here living vicariously through you! We haven't been able to take the kids to Disney yet, so I certainly couldn't bring myself to go there without them going first, but I'm going to talk to my husband about working out some sort of little trip, even if it's just a day, like you said, so I can "fill my cup" too! I'm happy for you, girl! 💜💚

I would love to go to Disney World whether it be a solo trip or with my Fiancé! Don’t have the courage or money to do so yet. 💜💚

Oh to stay at the Grand (with theme park view). That’s my dream. I would love to do a solo trip like this, it looks like you’re having a blast. 💜💚💜💚
