Great finish on the “Love Boat” sampler. The red frame is gorgeous! It makes me think of holiday finishing. WOW! For a woman who took a month off from sewing your Mom had a lot of finishes and WIPs. I adore her “Fall Y’all” Trip Around the World” quilt in progress. I cannot wait to see the finished project. Happy Knitting, Cross Stitching, Sewing, and doing all the things!

I love the idea of a Log Cabin with the RS panel. I was think economy blocks or churn dash, but I am tempted by your vision :). Your mom rocks!...but you know that.
@elizabethanncanstitchАй бұрын
economy blocks would be great too! I think for me I want to do log cabin because I feel like it'll be easy to add or remove "logs" to get my blocks all to the same finished size!

Great video. I love that your yarn closet has grown! I have the same cabinet full of yarn too. Such fun sweaters. I just frogged my KAL Cardigan and have😂 begun reknitting it. Hoped it would be ready for Sacred Sheep but life gets in the way. I think your mother needs to buy her own quilting machine and takeover one of her spare bedrooms. Keep crafting

I felt my 10 year old son in my heart when Charlie said he was hungry. Dang they’re always hungry! 😅 I was the same way with my iPad. I was just fine and dandy with my paper and highlighter until I tried markup r-xp and I’ve been hooked ever since!
@elizabethanncanstitchАй бұрын
right?? Markup was such a game changer for me! The first Charlie always wants to know when he comes over is what kind of snacks I have 😂

I’m sure you know this already but if you have a printer you can scan a paper pattern to pdf and load or if you have an iPhone you can take pictures and merge to PDF. I did that for quite a few of my paper patterns this summer.
@elizabethanncanstitchАй бұрын
Yes, I have a scanner on my printer! The only issue is that the scans aren't usually perfectly lined up so I have to spend some time loading them into markup and manually fixing things.

Liz loved your video. Can you tell me what pattern you used for your Irish chain quilt? Thanks Julie
@elizabethanncanstitchАй бұрын
I didn't follow any particular pattern, just basically used a jelly roll to make 9 patch blocks and then you just alternate the 9 patches with a solid color background square!
@jhuntsman17Ай бұрын
@@elizabethanncanstitchoh that’s easy enough. Thanks so much. Also you and your mom are adorable together. Also fun to see your nephew
@beckyearl5008Ай бұрын
What pattern does Sissy use for her large sawtooth star quilts? Wondering what size she cuts the pieces? I love how those large stars look ❤
@elizabethanncanstitchАй бұрын
she just makes 16 inch sawtooth star blocks where 1 fabric is the star and 1 is the background and then the reverse for the second block!
@sissystitchesАй бұрын
I make 16 inch sawtooth stars using the four at a time method for the flying geese. From a fat quarter, I cut a 4.5 by 18 inch strip, then sub cut into 4 4.5 inch squares. Next I cut a 9.25 inch square and a 8.5 inch square above From the remaining fat quarter I cut a strip 4.875 inches wide and sub cut into 4.875 inch squares. I usually only get three 4.875 inch squares so then I sew a leftover piece to the 4.875 inch scrap to make a 4.875 inch square. You should end up with 1-9.25 inch square for the flying geese. 1-8.5 inch square for the center. 4-4.5 inch squares for the corners. 4-4.875 inch squares for the star points. Then I just pair up my fabrics.
