I've been on approximately 16 cruises and I get sick everytime. Especially when it's cold at home. It's from going hot to cold on ship and coming home to cold. Went on a 14 day in September and came home with pneumonia unfortunately. Will never stop me from cruising though. ❤

I had the same problem has Ryan. Constantly stuffy nose for years. I also found out I had a slight deviated septum and went for allergy testing. I ended up getting allergy shots which has been life changing!!! My nose is a lot less stuffy and I need a lot less tissues!!! Defiantly recommend if he's allergic to dust or trees or any uncontrollable things

Brennan I once felt your pain. I was once coughing and sneezing, sometimes both at the same time for a month and I refused to go to the doctor thinking it was just a cold but with a trip to the doctor two prescriptions of meds later one of them including a z pak I was all good again. Feel better Brennan

yea I agree I'm 16 almost 17 and my mom says I'll switch to her doctor around 19-20 ish...quite honestly first year of college you should probably stay w ur pediatrician...then switch over when Brennan feels he can handle going to the doctor's alone and all that. Miss Jill you don't have to go w him when he's 18

I had enlarged turbinates and a deviated septum. I had the surgery with the splints in the nose for 8 days. But I HIGHLY recommend it! It cleared me up for good and I can breathe now. The surgery is soooo worth it even at your age. Good luck!

Oohooo is that an official new intro! I LOVE IT! 💖 Hoping for the best with getting to the bottom of Ryan's chronic sinuses. I actually am struggling with chronic sinuses too and have been for quite a few years also, I truly should look into it as well. I am one of those people that really struggle with the motivation of finding a good doctor and getting an appointment set. I really would like to get better at that this year. I also really hope Brennan feels better and the Mike feels better too and no one else catches the bug 💖 I went a a pediatric doctor until I was 20/21 I believe, but that was because I had not signed up for a new doctor and got really sick and ended up having Walking Pneumonia, and since I was still registered at that doctors office we just went there. I don't think they are super strict on the rules for that.

My pediatrician had people "graduate" when patients graduated high school. But they also had rooms in their office for the older patients with no circus/animals/kiddie stuff in it so the middle/high school kids could start to feel a bit older and prepare for the "normal" family doctor experience. Also at age 14 it became a choice for the patient to have the parent with them when called back and was almost encouraged with High school aged patients for the independence and again to prepare advocating for themselves in a doctors office for the "adult world"

I'm assuming that they were talking about turbinates. I had sinus surgery in Dec. 2018 to remove most of the turbinates in my nose as well as large polyps that I had. I also got a septoplasty to fix my deviated septum. The recovery wasn't bad at all. It just felt like I had a bad head cold for about a week. If Ryan does need to get surgery, I'd highly recommend going to a sinus specialist. It makes a world of a difference!

Will have to to try one. I have asthma, chronic bronchitis and I had surgery last May 1st for a deviated septum that on both sides of my nose. Only had less than 10% opening on both sides.

Three years ago I didn’t want to go to the dr. and was sick for about a week and then one night I couldn’t breathe and had to go to the hospital by ambulance and ending having to spend 2 weeks in the hospital for bacterial pneumonia. in the house I grew up in if we didn't snap to and quietly do exactly as told we paid for it dearly. quite often very painfully and at times blood was spilled. it was so bad we even knew what kind of day it would be by the smell of breakfast...bacon= good day...oatmeal= you had better hide and fast. I built a small space inside my closet that I could hide in. thank god they never found it. to this day I still get sick to my stomach with fear at the sight or smell of oatmeal. I cringe when I see how these donnally kids act towards their parents. if we didn't say sir or mam that was rewarded with a backhand across the face or head. and if we were ever caught jumping on the bed like katie did....welts from a belt across our backs. these guys have it made...

Ryan's prob just allergic to cat dander. Not much to do other than the Flonase and he can try doing saline rinses. I have allergies and allergic to pets a bit but live with them. The air purifiers do help according to my brother who has tons of sinus allergies. He did have surgery and still has allergies so I'd try the Flonase, saline rinses when brushing teeth like twice a day or after heavy cat interaction at least wash hands and face. That used to help me as a kid when I was around cats and had a worse cat allergy. Over time my allergies were less though but I have asthma and got sick often with upper and lung respiratory infections twice resulting in pneumonia which he doesn't want to get b/c it can scar his lung tissue. Get him to try this. I just got over being sick for a month, it went away for the holidays.. Then (I'm a waitress) I was working a banquet, as I was clearing plates from the tables, I had about 10 plates piled up in my hands, a kid sneezed directly in my face, I felt the spray, the mom laughed, I ran tothe kitchen, dropped the plates off and threw my face in the sink... needless to say, I'm on week 2 of being sick AGAIN!

😢 So sorry for all that, the yin yang of life. Loads of happy followed by ARGGG! Why is it though most people won't go to a doctor? They are the opposite of the dentist, they help remove the pain they don't cause it. Here is a hint for the hilarious Miss Katie, if she is trying to get a picture of any difficult to photograph stunt, Set the phone to highest resolution make a short video, pause the video at your ideal pose, (this used to be the iphone instructions) take a screenshot by pressing home + off button simultaneously. @@ShadeMiller Good point, although Mike is a CEO, and he and his family probably have a good medical plan, others may not. I forget as I am fortunate to live in Canada, our universal medical is regulated by the government. A small reasonable fee is deducted directly from our pay each month along with taxes. But I do believe the US also has free clinics for those who can't afford the regular ones.

At 14 I graduated from pediatric dr but technically you are considered pediatric until you turn 21. Especially with respiratory conditions. But it doesn’t mean you require a pediatrician.

I don’t like getting shots, any other doctor I don’t mind going to. My dad on the other hand passed out at work (at a hospital) and his face turned green and purple and he refused to go to the ER. We finally got him to go to the walk in clinic after him telling us he’s “fine”, and after waiting 2 hours in the waiting room.. he was fine and we wasted our time at the walk in.
