This is exactly what my life is like, except that I'm the only child. I really wanted them to be together but they would always be fighting over each other. After around 11 years or more, they divorced. I wasn't happy about that but my mother and father looked so much happier. I had to accept it because there was nothing I could do about it. But thankfully I could visit my dad sometimes.

Yes, in some occasions there is an exception, but in most occasions it’s the children who want to be happy with their parents and not realize the parents need to be happy as well.
