I never leave comments, however, I am a recovering addict, mostly pills, but really anything I could get. Doctors were just easier for me. I have 4 children 3 girls who are grown and a now 12 year old son. He played me this song, after something personal happened I don't want to write in public. He was 9 then. But may have well as been 50. I had to pull the car over to the side of the road,as I was blinded by tears crying hysterically. I turned around from going where ever and we went home. Makeup removed I was a mess mascara everywhere. I called him in my room and took my pill bag out (yes I said bag) I asked him to come to the bathroom with me and we sat on the floor in front of the toilet as I emptied 12 pill bottles out in the toilet. We TOGETHER flusshed the handle. It was rough, I went cold turkey all the way,with him by my side through several seizures uncontrollable arm ect movements, visual and auditory hallucinations,and 9 straight days of no sleep and visually seeing demons. It was horrible,but THE MOST BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I am sober going on my 4th year.My son is my hero! I homeschool him and we are closer than any kid and parent I know. My SON was my savior that day. He is awesome. I owe him so much. He has a mom 24/7 (yes I am a single mom as well) It's just us. But not one time have we looked back.Every night I ask him before bed if there is ANYTHING he wants or doesn't want to talk about...and he says ,"No mom but if I did I would have already told you" I told him no matter what he feels or thinks I love him and support him 💯! Thank you NF. ..thank you for writing this. I am so sorry for your loss,it was NOT in vain. Thank you for letting me share everyone.

Cadet Barajas 💯 Growing up my mom took pills from the “DR” and when I was 16 she gave me my first pill. I’m 28 now with 2 daughters 8 and 3 and I’ve been “diagnosed” with about 5 different things but suppress my feelings and hardly cry. She’s in another state and now on Meth plus the pills and just about 40 min ago sent her this song and she never responded, as usual. I didn’t have a “mom” I had a “best friend/drug buddy” to get high with and the memories will NEVER EVER fade or go away. I always tear up listening and watching this because my younger brother totally shut her out. Zero communication. I guess I still hold on to some part of her cause IM the one that wants to heal, especially for my little girls so the cycle breaks. Damn man. 🤦🏼‍♀️

The first time I heard any of his music was around Christmas last year and my daughter....knowing I love rap said "Mom you gotta hear these songs" It's a very sad story but what a strong willed Child of God!!! Therapy Session is my favorite out of all of his music....I listen to that song on my way to work, lunch, on my way home and it always puts me in a good place. What a tremendous talent.....

Well, I have a website and I am signed in as a listener who listens and helps others. I spoke to a few recovering/drug addicts. Each story is heart breaking this song always reminds me of them. I know I am 13 but I have also spoken to kids of parents who are drug addicts and it's heart breaking what they have gone through. I know it's hard to quit and the drugs are stronger than you but please get help. Your kids matter they need the real mom\dad not some picture or small memory. There kids they don't understand don't expect them to..there still growing up.

My parents are alive and never been addicted to drugs.... but the part that breaks me down every time is when he says “when I have kids you won’t be there... you won’t be there for any of that...”. I have kids, and I could NOT do this without their help, knowledge, and support. Raising kids is the HARDEST job I’ve ever done, and sometimes I feel like I’m not good at it... I couldn’t imagine going through those feelings without someone to talk to who has been through it, and have felt those same feelings... and loves my kids just as unconditionally as I do... Sometimes you don’t realize the advantages you have until someone comes along to give you some perspective.

Have your Mom listen to Therapy Session and remember this. This song is real! That is coming from a recovered alcoholic. It’s difficult to put addiction into words NF put a different perspective on it for me when I heard the song than when I found the video. He’s definitely not mediocre.
