I knew you would love this one! Your big smile was all of us the first time we saw this video. Now, you might like the Seven Layers session of Avi singing his song 'All Is Well'. No harmonies this time, just his beautiful voice in a church in Utrecht that has the most amazing acoustics. He was on tour and stopped off to record this beautiful song. It's more in his upper register than you might have heard before but it's fantastic.

This was beautifully done. Peter Hollens is the master of layering voices and has said that sometimes they are layered over 120 times to get that choir effect. It reminds me of Tim Foust of Home Free and Peter doing "Misty Mountains" from the Hobbit movie. so cool! Thanks!

I had the same reaction as you the first time listening to this. I'm sure I've listened to it at least 100 times. I really like Peter Hollins voice, but Avi ... OMG, I know exactly how you feel. That voice, those eyes, that smile, he makes me feel weak in the knees, and I'm almost 70 ! If he sang the alphabet, it would be beautiful. If you haven't checked out his solo work yet, you really must. Someone already mentioned his Seven Layers sessions, and they're not to be missed. "All Is Well" is simply stunning, but you can't go wrong with any of Avi's solo music. The entire "Floating On A Dream" album is amazing.

This is truly one of my absolute favorites that show the incredible Avi. Peter Hollens is incredible with his range and arrangements and I have become a huge fan of his as well. My father had a bass voice and I too am particularly fond of baritone and bass singers. Avi caught my attention from day one with the early Pentatonix. His timbre is wow! I love your reactions by the way.. you're a true music connoisseur and you have a beautiful voice too.

They both really do seem to look into your soul when they sing. I must admit, I am in love with Avi's voice and eyes too (and his smile runs a very close third). I can't even tell you how many times I have listened to this one. It really does showcase their talents so wonderfully without losing the feeling. If anything, the feeling leaves an even bigger impression than the phenomenal vocals. I knew you would love this one! I hope you didn't burn dinner.

A fun reaction and yes you came back. 🙂 It is an old Scottish folk song that came over to the Appalachian mountain area of the United States. This song was a surprise because people had not heard Avi sing melody at this point and alot of people fell in love with his voice from this performance. Peter is amazing in his own way and developed this multiple layering of an individual singer's voice technique. I will need to look for what you have heard of Peter's work. Thanks again.

There are a few leads by Avi when he was with Pentatonix, including Standing By, Light in the Hallway and The First Noel. But those are not among their most watched videos, so I suppose that him putting this out, with just him and Peter, was an important step in his solo career. It is incredibly beautiful and I'm so glad he did it.

Avi likes she's. No significant other except his 3 year old niece whom he adores. His sister who was the travel manager for Pentatonix and she posted pictures and video of the family up in the mountains of California. The video showed Avi sledding with her and and pushing her on the little blue sled It was the same p,ace the parents took Avi and Dsther sledding when they were young. Not sure if his brother made it in from Israel, but is was made clear Avi is the fave of little Rose. That video of Avi sledding down the hill when he was about 3 or 4 can be seen in this PTX Christmas video. He is also the one wearing the bow on top of his head.

This is a beautiful arrangement of this traditional folk ballad. Peter & Avi's voices really complement each other with the high & low tones. I enjoy his collaborations with other artists especially basses. Peter & Tim Foust have also done quite a few great songs together. Check out "Sound Of Silence", "Bridge Over Troubled Water", "Misty Mountains", "Fire & Rain", "Greensleeves", "Teach Your Children", "Sunshine On My Shoulders", "You Can Close Your Eyes", "And So It Goes", "Blackbird" etc.

I’ve watched this video so many times and get chills each time Avi begins his solo. 😍 I think you’d really enjoy All is Well (7 layers acoustic session filmed in Utrecht) and First Place I Go (filmed with his band, about his battle against anxiety and depression). Both are beautifully written and have some yummy deep notes but they are so different.
