Well, it was pretty much a good punishment for him. Recent studies have shown that using traditional punishments (grounding, seizing privileges, beating) are actually quite useless. And when you think about it, it kind of makes sense. If a child loses his laptop because he snuck outside without permission, is it really going to do anything in the long run? Sometimes, the parents won't around, and when they do nothing wrong, they'll never find out, thus they get away with it. And eventually, the child will have to move out or the parents die. Without them to constantly intimidating the child, that child will have nothing to worry about when he is outside without the fear of losing whatever is at stake. Not to mention that sometimes, these backfire, and children may start finding ways to destroy evidence in order to safely repeat the mistakes than find ways to improve and avoid future mistakes, possibly even resorting to unethical methods to stand up against the consequences (got to say, I did that, and I do feel quite guilty for it, and will have to for as long as I'm alive). Obviously, situations like this should be taken with caution, since anything wrong could something as bad, most likely worse, than using useless consequences. But in the end of the day, it's the person, not the punishment, that makes the obedient or not, and a life experience is more than enough to change someone for years.

I was walking to go to my friends house because I met them online but then I knocked on the door but then I saw a nice lady with kids and she said why are knocking on that door and I said I was going to meet a person online then she said that her oldest child got catfished and almost got abducted and we found it was the same guy and then I quickly ran because the person was about to open the door. This is why it’s so important to listen to your parents and not get disrespectful to your mom. The mom can’t be the sons best friend. Just be a mother that’s it. Always monitor your kids, they don’t need social media, especially not for kids, meeting people online is dangerous, and it’s a lot of pedophiles on social media. Yes it’s true things happens like this all the time, years ago a 13 year old girl was chatting with a boy online, they been talking, she didn’t wanted it to listen to her parents so she ran away and meet up with the person, and this person wasn’t even her age. The guy just killed the girl and put her in a ditch. The next day her parents knocked on her daughters bedroom and she wasn’t home. See this is why kids needs to listen to the people that loves you. Online dating is dangerous, they can be a bunch of criminals, drug trafficking kids, human trafficking kids to different places. Never give them any personal information, it’s not a lot of good people on social media, this is a good example for children to watch this, because this can happened in 5 mins, older women likes younger boys, and older men like younger girls. He’s lucky that the mother knows this lady, because if she didn’t, it wouldn’t had gotten worse, it’s a bunch of scammers and etc. especially what’s going on today in 2024. Just be careful
