I’ve commented this before but I honestly think that if a family is being monitored by CPS and all of a sudden the parents decide to take the kids out of school to homeschool them, then the school should notify CPS and CPS should make a home visit right away. I’ve heard of several cases where parents do this and it’s only because they don’t want to be investigated anymore and a lot of the time this is when the abuse becomes extremely worse and sometimes ends in the death of the child.

Now they never said what they were praying for. Probably were praying because of the situation. Immediately when he saw Alex, the pastor told the father to call the police. How many people do you think should be calling the police at one time? For all we know they were praying because they thought to themselves this might be the most crazy family that we've ever seen in our life...Also to blame the siblings is a huge stretch they were raised in that environment with minimal outside influence, their minds were conditioned to that being normal. @@chavil73 Adult siblings are NOT responsible for the actions taken. I never said they were. Being raised in a shitty situation doesn’t mean you are completely blind to how the world works. The treatment may have been the norm within their home, but an adult already in the world would know it’s not the overall general norm within society. Again it’s not the adult siblings fault, but to know what was happening is illegal…as an adult living independently in the world would know this…it seems a moral issue for them to turn a blind eye. Moral issue not criminal. Unless there is a cognitive/mental diagnosis that would prevent them from understanding how the world works…they knew it was wrong. The minute the church member saw the victim in that state they should’ve called immediately! It would be more than obvious the judgement of the parents is completely flawed and not to be trusted. It shouldn’t have been a moments thought to call 911. An instant action. Not waiting to try and convince an abuser/liar/murderer/an individual that tortured his child to call 911. There are times for prayer and time for action. Not to hem haw around, pray, encourage the victim’s dad to call 911, and hope that he will comply. An immediate reflex to call for help. The church and the adult siblings are NOT responsible for the child’s death…I want to make that clear. You can take action and have prayer in your heart. You can quickly ensure the safety of the other children in the home, and have prayer in your heart. You can quickly exit the home to provide room for emergency services, and have prayer in your heart. You can exit the home as not to contaminate a potential crime scene, and still have prayer in your heart. I can see we view the world differently. You know I've seen and heard alot that children that are constantly abused and in the hospital for breaks and cuts, often get treated and go home. When a child has a legitimate accident that's just a little bit unusual, CPS is all over the place threatening to take the child and watching the family like hawks.

My son broke his collar bone around 2 years old. He fell off a chair not too high off the ground and landed on his shoulder. He had no bruises, cuts or bleeds. He just cried and got over it after a bit. Then a couple days later the bruise appeared and he wouldn’t raise his one arm anymore and i rushed him to the ER. I felt so bad because I told the drs and specialists that I checked repeatedly for broken bones and I didn’t notice it but the specialist literally told me they work with about 12 cases a day because it’s one of the most common bones to break in kids. But it’s also easy to heal because they’re small. I was interviewed by multiple paramedics and hospital staff to make sure my story was consistent and they made sure my son was ok. He wasn’t even scared and he was super brave through everything. He’s almost 6 now and perfect as can be.

It always reminds me of the modern parable of the drowning preacher. But it's *worse* because it affects other people, not just the individual refusing the help. For reference, here's the parable in question: A storm descends on a small town, and the downpour soon turns into a flood. As the waters rise, the local preacher kneels in prayer on the church porch, surrounded by water. By and by, one of the townsfolk comes up the street in a canoe. "Better get in, Preacher. The waters are rising fast." "No," says the preacher. "I have faith in the Lord. He will save me." Still the waters rise. Now the preacher is up on the balcony, wringing his hands in supplication, when another guy zips up in a motorboat. "Come on, Preacher. We need to get you out of here. The levee's gonna break any minute." Once again, the preacher is unmoved. "I shall remain. The Lord will see me through." After a while the levee breaks, and the flood rushes over the church until only the steeple remains above water. The preacher is up there, clinging to the cross, when a helicopter descends out of the clouds, and a state trooper calls down to him through a megaphone. "Grab the ladder, Preacher. This is your last chance." Once again, the preacher insists the Lord will deliver him. And, predictably, he drowns. A pious man, the preacher goes to heaven. After a while he gets an interview with God, and he asks the Almighty, "Lord, I had unwavering faith in you. Why didn't you deliver me from that flood?" God shakes his head. "What did you want from me? I sent you two boats and a helicopter."

Because the system will always favor children being with their blood-related parents over people that actually give them a good life. It's part of the US's failed system I've realized over the years. The state will always give children back to their parents no matter what, it's why you'll find kids in completely disheveled homes, starved, abused, and dirty even when CPS has visited that house multiple times and taken those kids away, they always end up back there due to their parents wanting them and the state wanting kids to stay with birth parents

Normally I look up crime photos, hell, I one time watched Cartels, and what they can do to a human body is... exceptional to say the least, yet so disgusting and abhorrent; they probably end up the same one day or another. But one time I saw something I cannot forget, and I quit it for good, it f with your mind and even though these videos are real, they are so surreal they still look to me as fake, very gory horror clips, only because I live an ocean away and cannot believe one man can do such thing to another. Hearing the description just makes not wanna even try to look for it, because I simply had enough. I'm psychologically severely weak due to my own illnesses I combat everyday with no end in sight, so much I just given up on ever getting healthy, which you can imagine made my already bad depression even worse. I just don't even feel like getting up anymore. I struggle to get up from bed. Many times I just don't and just sleep or imagine my own stories in my head while laying in bed, eyes closed, because I'm tired of the Internet. I just fell asleep while writing this post, it's the meds. Fortunately my parents (again fell asleep) tried to help me. It's not their fault my illness didn't went away. I tell you, after some time all those psychologists are all the same, they're tired of you, offer no real solutions, which funnily enough I haven't thought about already, so I stopped going to them, and now I only visit Psychiatrists, who can prescribe meds, unlike Psychologists. Anyway, this was supposed to be about Alex, sorry for the digression. I can only hope he found peace. That no siblings intervened is just weird, even evil. They saw their brother wither away and did nothing, they're just as complicit. I remember how my brother tortured me psychologically, sometimes physically as well, when I was young and the second just watched and did nothing. For that I am eternally upset with him, he could've told our mother, yet remained silent. He was a coward, like all the siblings in this story. Everyone in the family was physical towards me, then some form of weird acne, unrecognized to this day attacked me after burning my face, shoulders and ... I fell asleep again. Rest in peace Alex, we will have to go out for a beer one day, when I join you with my parents. See ya till then.

It's a big deal! Our only experience with it was when our late kitty, Prada, had it for 14 months at the end of her life. That entailed twice a day insulin injections, diabetic supplies, curves, etc. - without insurance (she took Lantus, so we did get some discount through Good Rx). It floors me that these two, who received free healthcare, couldn't (or rather, wouldn't) help their child.

The sad thing is, those parents will be in concrete prison cells where they will be free to walk around their small rooms, given adequate medical care, and fed three times a day ... bare essentials they denied their son as they slowly starved him to death over the course of YEARS. This outright reminds me of the scene in Se7en, the horror-thriller of the man who kills people based on the seven deadly sins, and when the detectives find the man the serial killer punished for being a 'sloth', he was severely emaciated, just a hair above being brain dead, and had eaten his own tongue ... and that fantasy murder victim was STILL better off than the poor boy here.

This reminds me of a similar story back in the 80's (I think). Big differences though. The boy was a type 1 diabetic. His parents took good care of him with diet and insulin. Unfortunately, they joined a church that did "faith healings". The pastor told them the boy was healed of his diabetes. His parents took him off the insulin. The congregation, the pastor, and his parents watched the boy get sicker and sicker until he died. They couldn't handle the fact that their son had not been healed so they believed he'd be resurrected after 3 days. The church abandoned them, claiming zero responsibility. When the boy didn't resurrect, his parents were forced to admit that they were wrong. The boy hadn't ever been healed and they let him die. The difference though is that they suffered great regret, they didn't want their son to die, nor did they believe he would. The dad wrote a book about it. I think it's called something along the lines of, "We let our son die." There was a movie made about it too.

OMG!! I can't believe what this child went through. My son was diagnosed 2001, when he was 2 years old. The pain my child was in nearly ripped my heart out after a misdiagnoses by two separate Doctors, two separate times at the same hospital. He was dying right in front of my eyes and no one would help him at first. My two year old son had severe ketone-acidosis with a BSL (blood sugar level) of 49.9. The pediatric specialist claimed it was much higher as that was the highest the machine would go. Within just three days, my child had lost a lot of muscle mass and couldn't lift his head. His breath smelled like fairy floss. He was so thirsty that he was drinking and weeing at the same time. One of the doctors that met me at the hospital doors was the Doctor that misdiagnosed him the first time I presented my son to the hospital days prior. He told me that I was an overattentive mother and my child had a virus. Gave him some fluids and sent us on our way. Only for us to present a third time in such a state that I yelled at him to get away from my child and wanted a real Doctor to treat him. Meanwhile, my sons' kidneys were starting to shut down and he was in a coma type state. My son was in hospital for 10 days. During that time we were trained and trained and trained. I wasn't allowed to take him home without this training. My sons' health is number one. . This poor poor child must of been in extreme agony. I am so sorry 😶‍🌫😶‍🌫🥺

I can only assume that the abuse itself is the point. Having kids is painful, expensive and time consuming, and even in abusive situations it takes effort to keep a child alive. If this were pure neglect, the child would die within weeks or months of the neglect starting. These people deliberately keep a child alive and suffering, often for years or decades. The only reasonable assumption is that they enjoy it.

Kids don’t remember stuff done at 3… when I’ve drawn like 7 year olds, I often ask if this is their first blood draw- the child always says “yes” and sometimes parents tell me they did have one as a toddler (even up to 4) and that they just don’t remember. I’ve never drawn a 5+ year old that’s even remembered being drawn (and this is very scary for kids most times, due to not knowing what to expect. Often I have 4-8 year olds leave yelling “THAT WASN’T SO BAD (shouting, they are rightfully proud of themselves)” and I retort with: you’re braver than you think! Never forget that! I think mom (or dad- whichever parent is with them) owes you something special for how well you did! I try to make it into a positive thing, because the kids that are screaming, have been scared by their parents and react based off of their reaction. I drew one kid, who was so proud when it was done, and the dad was like: “I don’t know how you are so good at this- I am scared of needles!” I answered: “I’m sure glad you didn’t lead with that (in a serious tone)
