I see myself in this girl so much. And i understood so much when she got angrier and angrier at how 'innocent' and 'calm' her mother was representing herself. My mother has a lot of narcisstic traits as well so she is really great at charming people and making them think shes perfect/victim. Its led to years of my family enabling her abusive traits and me being told to forgive because shes my mother. (Luckily i found Jesus and He has done so much healing in me) When i was younger i would also find myself being unable to control my anger and yell disrespectfully to my mom. It was the only way she would hear me or even listen to what I had been saying. As someome with narcisstic qualities, she saw me as an extension of herself and if i operated separately or had my own thoughts or ideas she was quick to shut those down and tear me down. Seeing how harshly the girl spoke to her mom hurt me because i remember being in the same position and not quite feeling heard despite my loud voice. I know at first the girl kn the video seems shes in the wrong (and heres disrespect is wrong but we need to look for the stem- Which karamo is doing perfectly here). The way the girl is acting now is how her mother probably spoke to her as a child. Shes subconciously reflecting the mother you guys dont see. I am older now and have learnt to be gentle and a little more patient. I have learnt to talk with kindness and thats not to say things work out perfectly just becauze i learnt how to articulate better. But i could definitely relate to the girl. I hope she finds healing too and that their relationship finds peace.

I understand exactly to a T how you feel and what you have gone through. They can come off very charming . I remember going to my psychiatrist's office(I was misdiagnosed and put on tons of medication I should have never been put on because of my mother) and my mom would kiss me on the cheek in front of other people and go mommy loves you And as soon as that door closes And the doctor will leave out for a moment. She would lower her voice and cuss me out and tell me how dare I tell the doctor what goes on in her household ( aka The abuse she constantly inflicted) And tell me she will have something from you when I got home. Or she would have the smirk that would make me cringe inside. She was so manipulative. She even put raw rice on a wooden floor and made me stand on my knees that's punishment once . I have so many more stories that I could tell. It's heartbreaking what this young lady is going through. I know exactly how she feels. Narcissists are unhealed and infect anybody there around who has any type of empathy . They only care about themselves and how they feel and how they are perceived. That "okay" at 10:19 i think turned me upside down and made me understand much of how things have gone. I was siding with the mother for the first portion because the daughter talked over her mother wayyy too much when i wanted to hear what she was gonna say. Serious breakdown of communication and a lot of anger. I think the mother sort of knows she made mistakes and is avoiding accountability by uplifting only the positive things she's done. i.e. "I always left my door open" or "She never went hungry", never fighting to go back to things she has been accused of before *partially because of the daughter probably making her mother short circuit with the overtalking*. Its almost easy to side with the mother given the disrespect, however its clear respect was never earned judging by the lack of emotion and specifically care for the daughter when she is telling her tales of woe. If it was my daughter I'd have feelings and particularly own personal frustration over my failings for my daughter, I'd curse myself to make the choice of having a child to only fail them as a parent, because at the end of the day the child did not choose their existence, we did.

Yes it’s time to move on! No contact is best. The mother will absolutely be covertly disrespectful and hurtful again, & won’t take accountability for it. I believe people like this have mental health issues that’s undiagnosed , and it’s why they will throw stones then behave like the victim. It’s best to go “no contact” with such parents , otherwise your resentment will show up as rage and now everyone will call you disrespectful- and that’s because they’re only getting one side of the story. It’s a cycle that must be stopped. I am glad you’re doing much better and moving forward in life. I’ve had to do the same ❤blessings to you on your journey

I usually don’t comment and share my story/testimony about growing up with how my mom was back then. I understand her pain, my mom did give me the clothes the shoes phones etc .. but never gave me the love I needed her to give me growing up.. knowing I didn’t have my dad and her bringing guys in the house and picking them over me and my sisters … even got to the point where one of the guys did touch me! And she knew it was the truth and she still stood with him til they had their fall out. My mom got with a guy who is now my stepdad. They were smoking and everything and I felt like she was even more absent then she was already and I told her “ ma I don’t even feel like I have my mom at all “ and of course I said other things with that but weeks later she ended up telling me she wanted to go to church and change her life around and wanted me to go with her. I genuinely only went for her and not to seek God. My mother started changing and honestly she apologized, took accountability for the things that she had did to me and my sisters. She has changed she has preached about the things that she has done to us and how she wanted to be a woman first besides being a mom. She has changed so much through this path with God and I have seen her grow into the mother I always wanted her to be. I ended up of course going to church for God and I haven’t left since. Moral of the story is .. that God can work wonders in peoples lives and he can truly bless those that even in moments they may say “ God where were you “ … he sees and he knows peoples pain. I would’ve never thought out of my years of living that I’ll be on this path nor would I have thought I would ever see the mother that I have now.. I hope and pray that this woman gets the true healing that she needs and may God touch her life and her mom’s life .. cause her mother also needs some type of break through and needs some healing of her own as well. God bless you all 🙏🏽💗

The black community is a lost cause! People commenting about “disrespect” are the same ones that will sanction an abu$er/predator still being invited to family functions just because they don’t want to stir the pot. This behavior is all aligned, you can’t speak or show pain when you are a youth. You gotta hide everything and treat your parents like royalty even when they sh*t on you. It also boils down to them misconstruing the Bible and incorrectly telling people they will be cursed if they get angry with their parent… they never read the whole passage that states don’t provoke your children to anger. The black community is conditioned to think this way, and now the children are getting more angry/impatient. I don’t blame them

She always demands respect from me because “I’m the daughter” but she never respects me. I’m always LYING in her eyes and she’s the only telling the truth. I’m always “provoking” her and fueling her behavior, she’s never wrong. She gives me 0 privacy, I moved out 2 years ago and then last year she ruined it for me, I had to move back home so she can control my life. That’s why I’m triggered by this. I still love my mother though. It’s just sad that I have to persevere for all this because she refuses to go to therapy. I can’t communicate with her because she’ll get defensive instead of accepting and apologizing. I have no problem apologizing if I did her wrong but she’s making so hard for me to want to apologize if she’s not going to feel guilty and try to understand or try reciprocate too. Parents aren't perfect, but the disrespect is out of control. Be frustrated and angry, but learn out to express yourself. Smh
