Dapat po established na bago abutan ng tag-init around 3mos.. Pag harvest po, tutubo po ulit at lalong kumakapal/dumadami.. Lifespan is 4-5years, but can reach 8years on good soil and management.

@@janekatigbak4738 Yes po..malayo po ang difference nila.. High-yield high-maintenance po ang maramais.. Para kang nagtanim na ng mais o tubo, whereas Mombasa and Mulato II po ay grass..Pag na establish na cla, parang grass lng po talaga na low-maintenance.

@@janekatigbak4738 Nasa around 15 kinds of grass na po ang na experiment namin sa farm including maramais, pakchong, Alfalfa among others.. Di po namin tinuloy karamihan either may peste, high-maintenance, low yield, below average drought-tolerance, low palatability or combination thereof. Maramais - patay pag tag-init, or di na mag ratoon after 1 or 2 cuttings pag walang irrigation. Actually binigay lng ng kapwa breeder namin, kaya triny na naming itanim..Tapos pinatanim din namin yung sobrang seeds sa 2 kapitbahay na may baka at kambing, same result din..Mahina ang ratoon nya after 1 cutting..Kailangan ng irrigation at abono para maganda ang tubo ng bagong sibol. Alfalfa - Mahina ang tubo, tapos inaatake ng insekto at uod ang dahon. Need mag spray ng insecticide para di maubos, which is against our ethos of natural and sustainable farming. Pwede pa malason ang mga alagang kambing pag nakawala at napunta sa Alfalfa plantation na bagong spray. Pakchong - high-yield high maintenance..Need din ng abono at patubig kung tag-init. Centrosema - good result, kaya lang need ng 6-8mos para di maubos ng kambing sa pasture. Kudzu - same with Centrosema..Need ng 6-8mos para tumigas ang vines at di ubusin ng kambing. Nevertheless, good legume para sa kambing, at low-maintenance din. Ang 4hectares na pasture namin sa ngayon ay combination ng Mulato II (on high traffic and heavy grazing area), Mombasa (on low traffic and light grazing, riparian zones and shaded areas), Kudzu and Centrosema sa gilid2x at may mga kalat2x na puno. hehe..Hindi po Mombasa yun sir for sure.. Ordinary Guinea grass or para grass lng yun.. Imported po ang Mombasa Sir, at kami plng po ang may large scale plantation nyan as far as I researched. Guinea grass specie din po kasi ang Mombasa, kaya magkamukha cla. Pero improved cultivar po ang Mombasa for drought-tolerance, shade-tolerance and production. Namamatay po sa tag-init yung mga damo sa gilid-gilid, at buhay pa ang Mombasa.

Hindi po Sir..Native African grass po itong Mombasa, tapos dinevelop sa Thailand and Venezuela for improved drought-tolerance, yield, CP and other characteristics. We're afraid that Kobayashi Grass is a scam grass by sponsored ads in Facebook. They usually create fake pages na nagshi-ship ng bird seeds, maramais or other seeds. Lumabas din po yan sa FB feed namin, pero wala kaming alam na Kobayashi Grass (and we did our research).

@@user-lz5ws2xn6d Dapat po bagong stock..Naka cold-storage kasi dapat ang seeds ng Mombasa/Mulato II para mataas ang germination rate. Pag natagalan na hindi nka cold storage, wala talagang tutubo kahit mag seedbed or direct sowing method. Marami na pong nagmemessage sa amin na wala daw tumubo sa seeds na nabili nila online. Sa amin dati half seedbed and half direct sowing. Pareho namang nabuhay.

Isang beses lng po kami naglagay ng fertilizer sa simula mam.. Pang boost lng ng root system para hindi maunahan ng ibang damo sa pagtubo. 3 years na po Mulato II namin at 2years ang Mombasa, parehong hindi na kami nag apply ulit.

@@normahollins4820 Pwede naman po ang complete fertilizer like 14-14-14. Kaso mas mahal, at di naman na uutilize halos yung other 2 components, so sayang lng. Mas mainam Ammonium Sulfate, or Urea kung gusto nyong mas malago ang tubo. Sa amin kasi, pang boost lng talaga yan ng root system, para hindi na mag weeding after 1month, since nka no-till farming po kami. We aim for low-maintenance and low farm input.

Pwede naman po, basta may iba ring pakain.. Maarte kasi ang kambing pag yan lng ipakain mo lahat, pwede cla magsawa.. Same lng din kahit anong forage, basta paulit-ulit at yun lng ibibigay mo, magsasawa ang kambing at affected ang appetite nila.

Meron pong seeds, galing Thailand..Sila lng nagsusupply halos worldwide.. Sa farm po namin, twice na kami nag harvest, parehong sobrang baba ng germination rate. Hindi pa sya viable way of propagation.

Mombasa grass is From Tanzania, even if Thai country supplies worldwide it has its origin, never has been found in Thailand otherwise could have come with new name like napier variations.
