My mom told me that. It isn't abandonment or neglect. It is checking your emotional ego out of a hard situation. Is the baby warm, dry, fed, comfortable (safety pins could pop open). That is what you had to do. Then...Sometimes baby cry, they are exercising their lungs.

Dr Glassman was the dad Shaun needed and deserved tbh. He wasn't perfect no, but nobody is. At the end of the day he loved Shaun regardless of his struggles due to his ASD, and that's what matters most.

I am so glad Shaun met Dr. Glassman.
@inabel.243 ай бұрын
True, no matter how imperfect he is, he was always there when Shaun needed him the most, giving advice, guidance, and a shoulder to cry on. In fact he is the only person Shaun hug voluntarily before Lea. His parents were a*******. I got scared when the only father he has known got diagnosed with cancer, glad they did not remove his character.

Dr. Glassman might not have been perfect but he was perfect for Shaun. Such a good man. It's such a shame that he died. Hopefully he was able to impart enough knowledge and guidance on Shaun that he'll be okay. Dr. Glassman was always Shaun's father, no matter what.

Sometimes you need your family and it really helped that he showed up when he needed him and yeah he is in a way the babies Grandpa because we can make whomever we want our parents. Sometimes it might be biological and sometimes it might be adopted and when I say adopted I mean we adopt them whether it's official or not does not matter what matters is who they are to us.

I've not seen the good doctor but with having a 2 month old, I was giggling at the fact that when we're looking over Grandpa's shoulder at Shaun, the baby in his arms is clearly quite content despite the cry being played over top. They've got the kicking legs for the shots behind Shaun's back but I get they can't leave him in distress too long just for the sake of filming. Also not sure if this is meant to be a newborn but that baby is clearly about 2-3 months old to smile like that. Also, yes, parenting with autism does add a layer of difficulty when babies say "Routines be damned, I do what I want" 😂
