It is YT rules. When you use others' videos you have to add something meaningful. Commentary counts.

Our lives are filled with noises and for sure commentaries count if they are imparting some "meaningful" information. You don't think what he is talking about is meaningful, do you? Nah, they don't have to add something meaningful. Lot of vids have no music (just original sounds) or has zero commentary. Imho, commentaries are not necessary for these type of videos at all. History channel, nature related, true crimes, planet earth, documentaries etc ect and videos like those definitely need commentaries and they can talk my ears of and I am happy for it and I try to hear every single word they say (I have captions on, if available. English is my 4th language) to understand everything that is being said. I watch a lot of these type of videos so it kind of gets on my nerves when they tell us continuously what we are about to watch and a lot of people agree with me. If you read it you might come across a lot of comments like mine (above).

@@Nam61KY I don't like it either. BUT KZbin says to use other people's videos and to be able to cash in on them you must add something meaningful. Commentaries are the easiest way to do that. If a person tries to take your video down you have the commentary to keep it. Some channels don't have commentary and they risk having a video taken down. Or they will cut out the part that is copyright. Or they will share in the money. Some channels make enough money that it doesn't matter to them.
