This game kind of does that. I think the only issue with this demo is that the various obstacles are placed haphazardly. As I played, I could make a mistake, fall, and think, "Ha ha! My mistake. Wow, this is fun!" But after a while I started looking around, wondering how the heck to get anywhere. I saw this one spiraling strip of land that I never could manage to get to. It's not just that it's fairly large, but that there is _no_ sense of a path at all. If this were made into a proper game, I think that this needs to be addressed. It doesn't need to be an obvious race course, but some level of direction would be better. You shouldn't need to replay a level 10 times before you have any sense of direction in it.

I’m not sure why Sonic Team refuses to do momentum-based physics and more free-flowing movement like Sonic Utopia does. Sonic Utopia has no budget and they’ve got it right. It made sense in the late 90s and 2000s, making stages super linear due to hardware limitations, but they have such a big opportunity here now. I'm thinking breath of the wild scope here, imagine exploring a massive world to find thingies that make you go faster! For example, perhaps find an orb somewhere that'll let you drop dash or the such Or plant away an area in your mind that has a large vertical cliff, and come back when you have a consumable red spring, or suction shoes What if you see a massive loop in the distance, so you parkour your way there to find that it's too big for you to get on top of, so you plan a highly complex route in the surrounding hillsides to gain momentum to launch yourself up there. YOU planed that route, YOU executed it, and YOU got the awesome reward for getting on top of it with a well placed jump on just the right spot! Sega, get your shit together
