How to burp a baby after feeding:
1. On Your Shoulder : This position is ideal for newborns and infants up to the age of 6 months.
2. Sitting Up : Another ideal position for newborn infants and babies who suffer from GERD.
3. On Her Tummy : Once your baby has grown a bit, you could also try laying her face down on your lap as you burp her.
4. Walking : If your baby has adequate head and neck control, you could try burping her as you walk.

Not at all! Some babies just don’t burp while some others learn to feed better as they grow older. Simply try patting your baby for 5 minutes, if she doesn’t burp, she probably doesn’t need to.

I have a 4 month baby and I did face the same problems when he was just a newborn. As long as your baby is not cranky it's OK even if they don't burp immediately. My LO sometimes took an hour or more to burp. Also please consult it pediatrician before trying out any medicines.

Tuck the knees in towards the stomach while patting her/his back I do this while I have my little one on my chest with her knees bent and tucked towards the stomach to help push the gas up it works most times

Burping babies is completely unnessesary babies will burp quite naturally. Hold babies under 6 moths or sit in upright position to avoid egergitation & and let nature take care. Babies can be slightly distressed while this is happening which will encourage burping.

Gosh, no sir. My infant daughter feels tremendous pain if not burped. Even feeding upright, and taking it slow, my girl can still curl up and scream in pain from not burping. When we finally burped her, she passed out within 2 minutes. So it's really different from baby to baby.
